Getting started

Opening and keeping your cruise casino accounts

How to join each cruise line's casino rewards program, how points turn into status, when each program year resets, and what to do so your tier and your offers don't quietly lapse.

Short answer

On most lines you join automatically the first time you play with your cruise card (Norwegian and Margaritaville at Sea are the exceptions), and only rated play earns points. Lines with tiers reset on a fixed date: Club Royale and Norwegian on April 1, Virgin on May 1, Blue Chip on August 1 and Margaritaville on October 1. Carnival, MSC, Princess and Holland America count per sailing instead.

Keep one account per line in your passport name, with a current email and postal address and marketing permissions switched on, or offers quietly stop arriving.

Terms with a dotted underline are explained when you tap or select them.

The short version

  • You usually don't fill in a formMost lines enroll you the first time you insert your cruise card at a slot machine or hand it to a dealer. Norwegian (sign up at the Casino Host Desk) and Margaritaville at Sea (collect a card with ID) are the exceptions.
  • Your cruise loyalty number is often your casino numberRoyal Caribbean uses your Crown & Anchor number and Celebrity your Captain's Club number. Make sure you only have one, and that the name matches your passport.
  • Unrated play doesn't countPoints come from play the casino records: your card in the machine, or your card with the dealer before you play. Free play, promotional chips and unrated games earn nothing.
  • Two kinds of pointsLines with tiers usually track status points (tier credits) for the year and separate reward points you spend on the cruise. Reward points often expire when you get off the ship.
  • Status runs on a program yearClub Royale and Norwegian reset on April 1, Virgin on May 1, Blue Chip on August 1 and Margaritaville on October 1. Carnival, MSC, Princess and Holland America count points per sailing instead.
  • Keep your contact details currentOffers go to the email and postal address on file, and only if marketing permissions (Your consent, stored on your cruise account, for the line to send you promotional email and mail. Casino offers are only sent if it's on.) are on. A stale address is the most common reason offers stop arriving.

Earning rates are dollars played (coin-in) per point. *MSC's rate is reported by players, not published by MSC.

A yearly maintenance routine

For the programs with an annual reset (Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian, Virgin Voyages and Margaritaville at Sea).

60–90 days before the reset

Check your real tier credits (online, by phone or with the casino host) and work out what you still need. Our status keeper shows the gap, the play it takes and the expected loss.

Decide if the tier is worth it

Compare the expected loss of the remaining play with what the tier is worth to you, like an annual cruise or a waived fee. Don't chase a tier with money you can't afford to lose.

Watch the cutoff

Points count by ship's time on the reset date. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity have specific rules for sailings that cross the reset date.

After the reset

Confirm your new tier and look for annual-cruise certificates (Royal Caribbean's arrive in late April). Book early; the best sailings go first.

Any time

Keep one account per line, the same legal name as your passport, a current email and postal address, and marketing permissions switched on.

Let us remind you

With a free Slots at Sea account we'll email you 30 and 7 days before each program year ends, plus reminders before saved offers expire.

Royal Caribbean

Club Royalemedium confidence

Club Royale is Royal Caribbean's free casino rewards program. Your SeaPass card is your player card and your Crown & Anchor number is your member number. You earn Tier Credits from April 1 to March 31 across four tiers: Choice, Prime (2,500), Signature (25,000) and Masters (100,000). You also earn per-cruise Reward Points that expire when the sailing ends. Club Royale is NOT linked to Celebrity's Blue Chip Club: both lines' official FAQs say there is no shared status or shared benefits, and Points Choice excludes casino points.

No separate players card. Your SeaPass card (room key/onboard ID) is your player card, and your Club Royale number is your Crown & Anchor Society number. Your tier shows on your SeaPass card. The official guide says the casino host adds a Prime sticker to your SeaPass at Prime. A duplicate SeaPass can be issued with proper ID.

Opening an account

  1. Make sure you have a Crown & Anchor Society number (this becomes your Club Royale number). You get one automatically when you book or sail with Royal Caribbean.
  2. Onboard, insert or tap your SeaPass card at every slot or video poker machine before you play. At tables, give your SeaPass to the dealer or table games supervisor before you play. You are auto-enrolled the first time you play rated.
  3. Make sure your marketing permissions are on and your email is current, or you won't receive offers. To update them, call the Casino Reservation Center at 1-888-561-2234 or email clubroyale@rccl.com (official FAQ/T&C).
  4. Optional, before sailing: create a Royal Caribbean account and sign in at royalcaribbean.com/club-royale to see your tier, Tier Credits and offers.
  5. Optional, before your first casino cruise (US/Canada, 21+): apply for Rewards Match by uploading an eligible land-casino player's card (.jpg or .png).
Where to join, what you need and joining before you sail

Where you can join:

  • Onboard any Royal Caribbean ship: insert or tap your SeaPass card in an eligible slot machine, or present it to Casino Management at a gaming table (official T&C)
  • By phone: Casino Royale Reservation Center, 1-888-561-2234 (US/Canada) (official T&C)
  • Automatically through Crown & Anchor Society membership once you complete your first cruise. If you have sailed but aren't enrolled, call Crown & Anchor at 800-526-9723 before your next cruise (official T&C)
  • Online 'Club Royale Rewards Match' (royalcaribbean.com/club-royale/rewards-match). This is a tier and offer match for NEW members, or members who haven't sailed in the last 24 months and have no future booking. You must be 21+ and a US or Canada resident.

What you need:

  • Age 18+ at time of sailing (21+ on Alaska voyages) to be a member and to play; you must be 21+ on the departure date to redeem casino cruise offers (official T&C and promo terms)
  • Royal Caribbean may require government-issued photo ID as proof of age; ID matching the account name may be needed to reset your PIN
  • SeaPass card (onboard), which links to your Crown & Anchor Society number
  • Individuals only; corporations and other entities can't join. People on the casino exclusion list and residents of sanctioned countries/regions (North Korea, Iran, Sudan, Syria, Cuba, Crimea) are excluded.
  • US address NOT required to join. The program operates reservation centers for the US/Canada, Mexico, UK/Ireland, Australia/NZ, Singapore/Indonesia/Malaysia and Hong Kong. However, Rewards Match is US/Canada residents only, and online booking of casino offers is for North America recipients only.

Before you sail: Yes. Call the Casino Royale Reservation Center (1-888-561-2234), or rely on auto-enrollment through Crown & Anchor after your first cruise. New or lapsed players in the US/Canada can also apply online via Club Royale Rewards Match with an eligible land-casino card. You only start earning once you play rated onboard.

How you earn points

GameRateDetails
Slots$5 per point1 point (Tier Credit and Reward Point) for every $5 played (coin-in) on a reel slot machine. Replayed winnings and credits count as coin-in.
Video poker$15 per point1 point for every $15 played on a video poker machine. This is the current official FAQ rate and took effect with the casino year starting April 1, 2026. Older official material, including the rewards-table PDF dated 1/8/2026 and the Jan 30, 2026 SeaPass guide, still says $10.
Table gamesRated by bet and timeRated on game type, average bet and length of play; you must meet the table's minimum bet to be rated. Official example (rewards table, Jan 2026): a $10 average wager on blackjack for 1 hour = 10 points. Present your SeaPass to the dealer or table games supervisor before play.
Earning fine print
  • No points on FreePlay, promotional play or promotional chips (official T&C and FAQ).
  • No points on unrated games: Coin Pusher, Key Master, Cash Crane and Texas Hold'em poker.
  • No standing point multipliers are published. Bonus and adjusted points DO count toward tier status (T&C), and Royal Caribbean reserves the right to change 'point multipliers'.
  • Reward Points can be downloaded as FreePlay at slots, exchanged at the casino cashier for non-negotiable table chips, or applied as onboard expense account credit. Folio credit needs at least 10,000 Reward Points, and points from players in the same stateroom can be combined for folio credit but not for FreePlay.
  • Win or loss doesn't affect points; only the amount wagered and time played are tracked.
  • Your points on a single sailing also determine which Instant Cruise Reward certificate you qualify for. Levels are posted monthly onboard on the 'Rack Up the Rewards' flyer or QR code at the casino host desk.

Keeping your status

  • How long status lastsYour tier upgrades as soon as you reach a threshold: for the rest of that voyage and on future voyages (FAQ). On the next April 1 it is renewed for the whole following program year. Example: Prime earned at any point between Apr 1, 2026 and Mar 31, 2027 applies right away and lasts through Mar 31, 2028.
  • When points resetTier Credits reset to zero every April 1 at tier renewal. Your tier for the new year is set on April 1 from the Tier Credits you earned in the year that just ended. Royal Caribbean clarified for 2025 (community-reported) that credits earned on a sailing straddling April 1 count toward the old year if earned by 5:59 AM ship's time on April 1. Reward Points don't follow the program year; they expire at the end of each sailing.
  • If you fall shortThere is no mid-year downgrade. On April 1 your tier is reset to whatever your Tier Credits from the previous April–March year qualify for. If you didn't re-earn the threshold, you drop to the matching lower tier (to Choice below 2,500) that day. No soft landing or grace period is published. Royal Caribbean can also demote accounts for T&C violations.
  • Do points roll over? No. Tier Credits reset to zero every April 1, and nothing rolls over between program years. Reward Points can't be carried to future voyages; unredeemed points expire at the end of each sailing.
  • Checking your points and tier
    • royalcaribbean.com/club-royale: sign in with your Royal Caribbean account. Since Aug 28, 2025 the dashboard shows tier, Tier Credits, distance to the next tier, benefits and an Offers tab, with tabs for Benefits, My Offers and Win/Loss Statements.
    • Royal Caribbean app: Club Royale tier, rolling out since April 2026
    • Your SeaPass card shows your tier, and the onboard casino host can confirm your points during the cruise
    • Phone: Club Royale reservation center 1-888-561-2234, or your tier priority line
    • Note: the official FAQ still says to use Clubroyaleoffers.com with your name and Crown & Anchor number. That legacy site was replaced by the royalcaribbean.com account in Aug 2025.
Account housekeeping: offers, contact details, duplicates and closing
  • How offers arrive and how to book themOffers (certificates) arrive four ways. (1) By email and postal mail; mailers carry a QR code and offer code. (2) In your online account under My Offers (royalcaribbean.com/club-royale/offers or RoyalCaribbean.com/MyOffers). (3) As onboard Instant Cruise Reward certificates based on points earned on that sailing; the official guide says these are valid 30 days after the cruise ends, and a NextCruise booking onboard can add bonuses. (4) Through Rewards Match. Offer types: cruise fare for two (pay taxes and fees); discounted stateroom (cruise fare for one plus a casino rate for guest 2); dollars-off; FreePlay. FreePlay must be used by the last night and earns no points. How to book: North America recipients can book online through My Offers, choosing a listed qualified sailing. Otherwise call 1-888-561-2234 (Mon–Fri 8am–10pm ET; weekend hours shown differently in different documents), or use a travel advisor or independent casino rep. Rules: new individual booking only; the recipient must be the primary guest and 21+ on the sail date; book before the Book-by Date; taxes and fees paid in full to confirm; upgrades only by phone, travel advisor or casino rep; not combinable unless stated; one booking per overlapping sail window. A $200 per-stateroom deposit applies if you no-showed or cancelled within 2 days of sailing in the prior 12 months. Germany, Austria and Switzerland residents get taxes and fees included.
  • Annual cruise benefit'Annual Cruise courtesy of Club Royale' goes to Prime (Interior), Signature (Balcony) and Masters (Grand Suite). It is one per year, based on double occupancy; you pay only taxes and fees. Under the 2025–26 rules (official grid dated 1/8/2026) it applied to select sailings of up to 7 nights, with an exclusion list, and had to be booked and sailed by March 31, 2026. Certificates load into accounts in late April: 2025 rollout Apr 22–25; 2026 certificates began appearing Apr 21, 2026. For 2026–27, Royal Caribbean switched from an exclusion list to a curated inclusion list (community-reported, Royal Caribbean Blog Apr 25, 2026), with Prime at about 500 sailings and Masters up to 25 nights. It also announced limited-time bonus offers to upgrade the annual cruise. The 2026–27 book and sail-by deadline was not confirmed.
  • Updating your name, email or address
    • Onboard with the Casino Host during casino hours (official T&C)
    • Email clubroyale@rccl.com (official T&C)
    • Call a Casino Call Center representative at 888-561-2234 (official T&C)
    • Keep marketing permissions on and your email current, or offers won't reach you. Your legal name should match your travel documents and SeaPass; ID may be required.
  • Duplicate accountsPer the T&C, if one person has more than one Club Royale account number, the accounts are merged. Only the surviving account keeps its Reward Points and Tier Credits; enrollment or promotional bonuses on the duplicate are excluded. Your Club Royale number is your Crown & Anchor number, so report duplicates to Crown & Anchor customer service: (800) 526-9723, or (541) 285-9723 from outside the US/Canada, or crownandanchor@rccl.com. Also tell Club Royale (888-561-2234 / clubroyale@rccl.com) so casino history follows.
  • Inactivity and offer rulesThe T&C have no inactivity expiry for the membership itself. Royal Caribbean can withhold offers 'based on inactivity or a decreased level of gaming play'. Redeeming a casino offer and then not playing can get you removed from future offers. Failing to check in at the pier can mean suspension from offers and a $200 deposit on future stateroom offers for 12 months. Gaming debts unpaid 90+ days can lead to suspension or forfeiture.
  • Closing your accountNo formal closure form is published. Per the T&C, cancelling membership forfeits unused points, tier status and benefits. You can opt out of marketing through the Casino Call Center (888-561-2234) or the unsubscribe links. Requesting self-exclusion from Casino Royale removes you from Club Royale and all casino marketing permanently; you cannot rejoin.
  • Linked programsNOT linked to Celebrity Blue Chip Club as of October 2026. Both official FAQs (royalcaribbean.com and celebritycruises.com) say: 'At this time, Royal Caribbean's Club Royale Rewards Program and Celebrity Cruise's Blue Chip Club do not offer reciprocal benefits or status.' Points Choice (sailings departing on or after Jan 30, 2026) lets cruise-loyalty points move between Crown & Anchor, Captain's Club and Venetian Society. That includes cruise points earned on casino-comped sailings, but casino game-play points explicitly cannot transfer. Brand Status Match (1-for-1 across Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Silversea) covers cruise-loyalty tiers only. Shared features without being linked: the same parent company; near-identical T&C; the same slot ($5) and video poker ($15) earning rates; the same per-voyage Reward Points rules; and the same MGM Rewards partnership (since June 2025, play on SeaPass also earns MGM Rewards points, tier credits and slot dollars) and Hard Rock Unity partnership. Both programs moved into their cruise line's web account on Aug 28, 2025. They run on different program years (Apr–Mar vs Aug–Jul) with different tier names and thresholds. Blue Chip Club is not on Club Royale's Rewards Match eligible-casino list (Sept 30, 2026). A 2023 report speculated about a merger, but none has happened.
Tips from experienced players

From forums, blogs and player reports, not the cruise line.

  • Insert or tap your SeaPass before every session. Unrated play and FreePlay earn nothing, and the casino won't backfill play it didn't record.
  • Pick up the monthly 'Rack Up the Rewards' instant-certificate chart or scan its QR code at the casino host desk early in the cruise. Short and long North American sailings and European sailings use different charts, and the short-cruise list usually offers more at a given point level.
  • Reward Points die when you disembark. Download them as FreePlay, or, if you've reached 10,000 points (combined across the stateroom), take folio credit before the last night.
  • Placing a NextCruise deposit onboard can lock in the bonus part of an instant certificate (extra FreePlay or onboard credit). Instant certificates must be used within about 30 days of the cruise.
  • Annual tier certificates land in the online account in late April (Masters first, then Signature, then Prime). Under the 2026–27 inclusion list, desirable sailings go fast, so book early.
  • If an offer from an email or mailer is missing from your online account, call Club Royale with the offer code. After the Aug 2025 migration, reps said missing offers would be honored, but you may need to escalate.
  • Play on comped cruises. Official promo terms say redeeming an offer with no play can remove you from future offers, and no-shows trigger a $200 deposit on future comps.
  • Many targeted offers are now 'cruise fare for 1', with guest 2 paying a reduced fare (a change since late 2024). Read the offer type before booking, especially if you sail solo, since you may owe the second fare.
What we couldn't confirm
  • Official 2026–27 benefits grid: the rewards-table PDF on royalcaribbean.com is dated 1/8/2026 and still shows a March 31, 2026 annual-cruise deadline. The new Signature onboard credit and the inclusion-list annual cruise rules come from community reports. The live benefits page sits behind sign-in or bot protection.
  • Book and sail-by deadline for the 2026–27 annual tier cruise
  • Current Instant Cruise Reward point levels; they change monthly and vary by region and sailing length
  • Reward Point value when redeemed as FreePlay or folio credit (e.g., points per $1)
  • Exact table-game rating formula beyond the official example (a $10 blackjack average bet for 1 hour = 10 points)
  • Whether the $3 onboard-account transfer fee for sub-Prime players is official policy (community-reported only)
  • A formal account-closure procedure, beyond the T&C's forfeiture language
  • Whether a sister-brand (Celebrity) casino offer can be used for Club Royale Rewards Match ('competing cruise line offer' is not defined)

Blue Chip Clubhigh confidence

Blue Chip Club is Celebrity's free casino rewards program. Your SeaPass card is your player card and your Captain's Club number is your member number. You earn Tier Credits from August 1 to July 31 across six tiers: Pearl (1), Onyx (500), Amethyst (5,000), Sapphire (15,000), Sapphire Plus (75,000) and Ruby (150,000). You also earn per-cruise Reward Points that expire when the sailing ends. Blue Chip Club is NOT linked to Royal Caribbean's Club Royale: both lines' official FAQs say there is no shared status or shared benefits, and Points Choice excludes casino points.

Where you can join:

  • Onboard any Celebrity ship: insert or tap your SeaPass card in an eligible slot machine, or present it to Casino Management at a gaming table (official T&C)
  • By phone: Blue Chip Club Reservation Center / Casino Call Center, 1-866-461-7170 (official T&C)

  • Age 18+ at time of sailing (21+ on Alaska voyages); you must be 21+ on the departure date to redeem casino cruise offers (official T&C and casino promotions terms)
  • Celebrity may require government-issued photo ID as proof of age; ID matching the account name may be needed to reset your PIN
  • SeaPass card (onboard), which links to your Captain's Club number
  • Individuals only; corporations and other entities can't join. People on the casino exclusion list and residents of sanctioned countries/regions (North Korea, Iran, Sudan, Syria, Cuba, Crimea) are excluded.
  • US address not stated as a requirement. Celebrity runs the program on its regional websites (US, CA, UK, AU, MX and others), and the casino offer terms include special rules for Germany, Austria and Switzerland residents.

Before you sail: Yes. Call 1-866-461-7170, or rely on auto-enrollment through Captain's Club after your first cruise. If you've sailed but aren't enrolled, call Captain's Club at 1-888-751-7804. You only start earning once you play rated onboard. No public Blue Chip 'rewards match' application page was found, though the T&C mention a tier match program.

How you earn points

GameRateDetails
Slots$5 per point1 point (Tier Credit and Reward Point) for every $5 played on a reel slot machine (official page and FAQ).
Video poker$15 per point1 point for every $15 played on a video poker machine. This is the current official page and FAQ rate (Oct 2026). URComped (Jul 29, 2025) and Cruise Mummy (Nov 5, 2025) reported $10, so the rate rose sometime after Nov 2025; the exact date wasn't confirmed.
Table gamesRated by bet and timeBased on the type of table game, your average bet and how long you play; you must meet the table's minimum bet to be rated. Present your SeaPass to the table games supervisor before play. No official example rate is published.
Earning fine print
  • No Tier Credits or Reward Points on FreePlay, promotional chips or promotional offers (official T&C and FAQ).
  • Not eligible: Texas Hold'em poker, Keymaster, Cash Crane and coin pushers.
  • No standing point multipliers are published. Bonus and adjusted points DO count toward tier status (T&C), and Celebrity reserves the right to change 'point multipliers'.
  • Reward Points can be downloaded as FreePlay at slots or exchanged at the casino cashier for non-negotiable table chips. They can also go to your onboard folio through the Casino Host: folio credit needs at least 10,000 Reward Points and applies to F&B, shopping, shore excursions, select spa, photo and internet.
  • Guests in the same stateroom can combine Reward Points to reach the 10,000-point folio minimum, but NOT for FreePlay and NOT toward Instant Cruise Rewards.
  • Points earned on a sailing determine your Instant Cruise Rewards certificate, which comes with bonus FreePlay and is available to all tiers.
  • Unofficial redemption value: Cruise Mummy (Nov 2025) reported 50 Reward Points = $1 FreePlay with a $5 minimum. This is not confirmed by official sources.

Keeping your status

  • How long status lastsYour tier is set each August 1 from the Tier Credits you earned in the previous Aug 1–Jul 31 year, and lasts for that whole program year. If you qualify for a higher tier mid-year, the new benefits start on your NEXT voyage, not the current one (official FAQ/T&C; Club Royale is different, applying upgrades immediately). Example: Sapphire earned during Aug 1, 2026–Jul 31, 2027 applies from your next cruise and is renewed for Aug 1, 2027–Jul 31, 2028.
  • When points resetTier Credits reset to zero each August 1. URComped reported the 2025 reset at 6:00 AM on Aug 1, 2025. Your tier for the new year is set on August 1 from Tier Credits earned in the previous Aug 1–Jul 31 year. Straddle sailings: credits from a cruise that starts in July and ends after August 1 count toward the year that just ended, and your Tier Credits then reset to 0 on the return date. Reward Points don't follow the program year; they expire at the end of each voyage. History: the program ran on a calendar year until Celebrity extended the 2023 earning period to July 31, 2024 (announced Dec 2023). The revamped program and the Aug–Jul year started Aug 1, 2024.
  • If you fall shortPer the official T&C, tier status is renewed annually on August 1 based on the previous year's Tier Credits. If you didn't re-earn your tier's threshold, you move to the tier your credits support on August 1. Cruise Mummy (Nov 2025) claims playing at least once keeps your tier and that a year of no play drops you only one tier. That soft landing is NOT in the official T&C; treat it as unverified.
  • Do points roll over? No. Tier Credits reset to zero every August 1, with no carry-over. Reward Points can't be carried to future voyages; unredeemed points expire at the end of each voyage.

  • How offers arrive and how to book themOffers arrive three ways. (1) By email and home mail. (2) In your online account under My Offers (celebritycruises.com/blue-chip-club/offers). (3) As onboard Instant Cruise Rewards certificates based on play during that sailing; points can't be combined with cabin-mates for these. Offer types: Stateroom Offer (cruise fare for two, pay taxes and fees); Discount Stateroom Offer (cruise fare for one plus a casino rate for guest 2); Dollars Off; FreePlay. FreePlay must be used by the final night and earns no points. How to book: call your Celebrity Casino Representative at 1-866-461-7170 (Mon–Sun 9am–8pm ET), a travel advisor, or an independent casino rep. Rules: new individual booking only; the recipient must be the primary guest and 21+ on the sail date; book before the Book-by Date; taxes and fees paid in full to confirm; not combinable unless stated; one booking per overlapping sail window. A $200 per-stateroom deposit applies if you no-showed or cancelled within 2 days of sailing in the prior 12 months. Germany, Austria and Switzerland residents get taxes and fees included.
  • Annual cruise benefit'Annual Cruise courtesy of Blue Chip Club' goes to Amethyst (Inside), Sapphire (Veranda), Sapphire Plus (Concierge Class) and Ruby (Aqua Class). It applies on select ships and sailings; you pay only taxes and fees. It is limited to one per year, based on double occupancy, and restrictions and exclusions apply. Sapphire, Sapphire Plus and Ruby may redeem in a lower category when their category isn't offered on a select sailing. Browse eligible sailings by signing in at celebritycruises.com/blue-chip-club/signin. The current certificate must be booked AND sailed by July 31, 2027 (official footnote 18). Separately, the 'NEW! Tier Event Cruise Invite' gives Sapphire and up an invitation to a hosted special-event cruise, with cabin category based on level of play and limited capacity.
  • Updating your name, email or address
    • Onboard with the Casino Host during casino hours (official T&C)
    • Call a Casino Call Center representative at 1-866-461-7170 (official T&C)
    • Keep marketing permissions on and your email current to receive offers. Contact details also live in your Captain's Club and Celebrity account (Captain's Club 1-888-751-7804).
  • Duplicate accountsPer the T&C, if one person has more than one Blue Chip account number, the accounts are merged. Only the surviving account keeps its points and Tier Credits; enrollment or promotional bonuses on the duplicate are excluded. Because your Blue Chip number is your Captain's Club number, contact the Casino Call Center (1-866-461-7170) and Captain's Club (1-888-751-7804) to have duplicates merged. No dedicated online merge form was found.
  • Inactivity and offer rulesThe T&C have no inactivity expiry for the membership itself. Celebrity can withhold offers 'based on inactivity or a decreased level of gaming play'. Redeeming a casino offer and then not playing can get you removed from future offers, and failing to check in at the pier can mean suspension from offers. Gaming or financial debts unpaid 90+ days can lead to suspension or forfeiture.
  • Closing your accountNo formal closure form is published. Per the T&C, cancelling membership forfeits unused Reward Points, tier status and benefits. You can opt out of marketing through the Casino Call Center (1-866-461-7170) or unsubscribe links. Requesting self-exclusion from Fortune's Casino/The Casino removes you from Blue Chip and all casino marketing permanently; you cannot rejoin.
  • Linked programsNOT linked to Royal Caribbean Club Royale as of October 2026. Celebrity's casino FAQ says: 'At this time, Royal Caribbean's Club Royale Rewards Program and Celebrity Cruise's Blue Chip Club do not offer reciprocal benefits or status.' The same FAQ says Blue Chip casino Reward Points cannot move through Points Choice. Points Choice (sailings departing on or after Jan 30, 2026) only lets cruise-loyalty points (Captain's Club, Crown & Anchor, Venetian Society) be applied to another brand, including cruise points earned on casino-offer sailings. Brand Status Match covers cruise-loyalty tiers, not casino tiers. Shared features without being linked: the same parent (Royal Caribbean Group); near-identical T&C; the same slot ($5) and video poker ($15) rates; the same per-voyage Reward Points mechanics (10,000-point folio minimum); and the same MGM Rewards and Hard Rock partnerships. Both moved into their cruise line's web account on Aug 28, 2025. Program years differ (Blue Chip Aug–Jul vs Club Royale Apr–Mar), and tier names and thresholds differ. A Dec 2023 report speculated about a merger, but none has happened.
Tips from experienced players

From forums, blogs and player reports, not the cruise line.

  • A tier earned mid-cruise only kicks in on your NEXT Celebrity cruise. If you're close to a threshold, cross it on an earlier sailing so the upgraded benefits apply on the one you care about.
  • Watch the July/August straddle. A late-July sailing that ends after August 1 counts toward the outgoing year, but your credits reset to 0 on the return date, so nothing from that cruise carries into the new year.
  • Use your Reward Points before the last night; they expire at disembarkation. Pool with your cabin-mate to reach 10,000 points for folio credit, since pooling only works for folio credit, not FreePlay or Instant Cruise Rewards.
  • Video poker players now need $15 coin-in per point, up from $10 in 2025, so check the current rate on the official page before planning tier goals.
  • Book annual cruise certificates early. They're limited to select sailings, and Sapphire and up can fall back to a lower category if their cabin type isn't offered.
  • The Aug 2025 move to celebritycruises.com/blue-chip-club caused missing or duplicated offers. Keep the offer code from your email or mailer and call 1-866-461-7170 if an offer is missing.
  • Win/loss statements for a calendar year are available after January 31 of the next year, covering the past five years, in the Win/Loss Statements tab or via the request form.
What we couldn't confirm
  • Exact date the video poker rate changed from $10 to $15 (after Nov 2025; possibly with the Aug 1, 2026 year or alongside Royal Caribbean's Apr 1, 2026 change)
  • Current Instant Cruise Rewards point levels and the Reward Point redemption value (an unofficial report says 50 points = $1 FreePlay)
  • When 2026–27 annual cruise certificates were issued, and whether they use an inclusion list or an exclusion list
  • Whether the Celebrity mobile app shows Blue Chip status or offers
  • Details of the 'Blue Chip tier match program' mentioned in the T&C; no public application page was found
  • Whether US residency or a US address is needed to receive mailed offers
  • Formal account-closure procedure and an online duplicate-merge process
  • Conflicts: the Blue Chip number equals the Captain's Club number (official T&C) vs 'different numbers' (Cruise Mummy, Nov 2025). Ruby Wi-Fi is 2 devices on the official 2026 grid vs 4 in 2024–25 reports. A one-tier soft-landing demotion (Cruise Mummy) isn't in the official T&C.

Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival Players Clubmedium confidence

Carnival Players Club is Carnival's free casino rewards program for guests 18 and over. You join automatically by using your Sail & Sign card at a slot machine or giving it to a table dealer. Points count per voyage only and drive invitations such as Drinks On Us, casino-rate cruises and Premier, Ultra and Elite event sailings; Carnival publishes no tier thresholds. Since Carnival Rewards launched on September 1, 2026, every Casino Point you earn also counts as one status Star, and points left unspent at the end of a sailing turn into Carnival Rewards Points.

Cost
Free
Card / player number
No separate players card. Your Sail & Sign card acts as your player card each cruise. A new card is issued every sailing, but your player record stays linked to your Carnival guest number (third-party URComped and Cruise Critic posters). Carnival lists the Carnival Guest # as the existing-member identifier on its online forms, and Ocean Players Club forms ask for your past-guest (formerly VIFP) number.

App
Carnival HUB app. In November 2022 Carnival announced a HUB casino section for checking Casino Points and Player Bank balances and seeing casino events, rolling out ship by ship. Fleetwide availability in 2026 is not confirmed. Carnival Rewards balances are at carnivalrewards.com.
Program year
Carnival Players Club has no published program year or annual tier qualification. Invitations and offers are based on your play on each voyage, and on your history, which Carnival doesn't disclose. A separate program, Carnival Rewards, counts casino play toward status within a Status Qualifying Window. The first window runs September 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028.

Opening an account

  1. Board the ship and get your Sail & Sign card (your room key and onboard charge card).
  2. At slots, insert the Sail & Sign card and keep it in while you play. Community reports say you set a PIN the first time and keep it for the rest of the cruise. At tables, give the card to the dealer or pit boss so your play gets rated.
  3. Your play is tracked to your Carnival guest record. Carnival says that if you have been hosted at an onboard casino before, you may already be a member.
  4. Optional: before or after sailing, register online with your Carnival Guest # and email so casino offers reach your inbox.
Where to join, what you need and joining before you sail

Where you can join:

  • Onboard casino: insert your Sail & Sign card in any slot machine, or hand it to the dealer at a table game
  • Online, before sailing: the Carnival Players Club sign-up form at carnival.com/registration/promotions/casino. This registers you for casino email offers; it does not credit any play
  • Online, before sailing (US residents): the Carnival Players Club Fun Match form at carnival.com/Registration/Promotions/casino-funmatch, where you upload other casinos' loyalty cards

What you need:

  • Age 18 or older to join and gamble. You must be 21 or older to drink alcohol, including Drinks On Us.
  • A Sail & Sign card from a current sailing
  • Online registration asks for name, date of birth, email, phone, country of residence and state/province (or an existing Carnival Guest # and email)
  • Fun Match is limited to legal residents of the 50 US states and DC. Its terms say 21+ even though the form accepts 18+.
  • Casino offers and FunPlay need a valid ID showing the invited member's name, and names can't be changed (offer terms)

Before you sail: Partly. Points can only be earned onboard, but you can register online beforehand at carnival.com/registration/promotions/casino to get casino email offers. US residents can also submit other casinos' loyalty cards through Fun Match, which runs until at least December 31, 2026. Treat neither as a substitute for rated play.

How you earn points

GameRateDetails
Slots$2 per point1 Casino Point for every $2 coin-in
Video poker$5 per point1 Casino Point for every $5 coin-in
Table gamesRated by bet and timePoints are based on the game played, average bet size and how long you play. Carnival publishes no formula.
Earning fine print
  • Official rates come from the Carnival Players Club page (checked October 2026). Community posts from 2016 to 2022 cited 1 point per $2.50 for slots, and one 2021 post said $5 slots / $10 video poker. The Points Guy wrote in October 2024 that Carnival didn't publish rates. Rates were published, and the slot rate has apparently changed, since then; the exact change date couldn't be confirmed.
  • Carnival Rewards (live September 1, 2026, delayed from the planned June 1, 2026) earns 1 Status Qualifying Star per Casino Point earned, even if the point is later redeemed onboard for FunPlay. Any Casino Points left unredeemed at the end of a sailing convert 1:1 into Carnival Rewards Points, which post about 14 days after the cruise.
  • Casino Points can be redeemed onboard for FunPlay; the conversion rate is not published. A 2015/2018 CruiseMapper article said every 1,000 points earned $10, which is unverified and probably outdated.
  • FunPlay doesn't earn points, but winnings from FunPlay are cashable (Cruise Critic, January 2022; community).
  • Treasure Chest Voyages also award 1 Treasure Chest Coin per 100 Casino Points earned on that voyage. Coins are redeemed online for merchandise within 90 days after the cruise (official FAQ).
  • Drinks On Us thresholds are not published officially. Community-reported figures are 1,000 points on a single sailing under 5 days, or 1,500 points on sailings of 5 days or more (URComped, Cruzely July 2026, Cruise Critic). One 2016 post put the 1,000 threshold on a 5-day cruise. Table players are judged on 'comparable' play.

Keeping your status

  • How long status lastsCarnival Players Club has no ongoing status levels. Each invitation is a one-off offer tied to specific sailings and booking deadlines. Elite invitations give Carnival Rewards Platinum only for the duration of that cruise.
  • When points resetCasino Points are counted per voyage and start at zero each cruise (community reports, consistent with Carnival Rewards converting leftover points 'at the end of a sailing'). Points don't carry from one cruise to the next as Casino Points; since September 1, 2026, unspent points become Carnival Rewards Points instead.
  • If you fall shortThere's no published downgrade rule because there are no annual tiers. Community reports say offers shrink or stop if play drops. For Carnival Rewards, status is earned in a two-year Status Qualifying Window and kept for the rest of that window plus the next two-year window.
  • Do points roll over?Casino Points don't roll over from cruise to cruise. Since September 1, 2026, Casino Points left at the end of a sailing convert 1:1 into Carnival Rewards Points, posting about 14 days later. Treasure Chest Coins can't be carried over and must be redeemed within 90 days.
  • Checking your points and tier
    • Slot machine screen while your Sail & Sign card is inserted (community)
    • Casino host or pit boss for table ratings
    • Carnival HUB app casino section (Points and Player Bank), if live on your ship
    • Personalized casino offers: log in at carnival.com/cruise-deals ('View your offers'), or use carnival.com/offers with your Carnival Guest #
    • Carnival Rewards Points and Stars: carnivalrewards.com
    • Offer questions: Ocean Players Club 'Verify Casino Offer' form at oceanplayersclub.com/contact/comp/
Account housekeeping: offers, contact details, duplicates and closing
  • How offers arrive and how to book themInvitations (Premier, Ultra, Elite, Treasure Chest, Limited Edition, SEA, tournaments) are 'delivered directly to your inbox' and appear as personalized offers at carnival.com/cruise-deals when logged in. Older terms (2019) required bringing the original mailer to the casino cashier to claim FunPlay. To book, contact Carnival and quote the offer's rate code; offers are for new bookings, can't be transferred and usually can't be combined. Community reports describe free or discounted room offers handed out on the last night or emailed weeks later, plus 'Dealer's Choice' casino rates. Fun Match offers arrive by email about 7 business days after submission. Ocean Players Club can verify an offer, but it can't change reservations.
  • Annual cruise benefitNone published. There is no annual free cruise or yearly status perk in Carnival Players Club.
  • Updating your name, email or address
    • No casino-specific profile page was found. Update your name, address and email in your Carnival account / Carnival Rewards profile, which is keyed to your Carnival Guest #.
    • Name changes are not permitted on casino offers, and FunPlay needs valid ID matching the invited member's name (official offer terms).
    • For casino-side questions, the Ocean Players Club 'Other Questions' form asks for your past-guest number, booking #, ship and sail date.
  • Duplicate accountsNo official process is published. Your casino record follows your Carnival Guest # (formerly VIFP), so use the same number on every booking and ask the casino host or Ocean Players Club (oceanplayersclub.com/contact/general/) to combine records if play lands on a second number. Community posters disagree on whether pooling a couple's play on one card helps.
  • Inactivity and offer rulesNo inactivity or expiry rule is published for Players Club records. FunPlay from offers and onboard raffles must be used on the sailing it was issued for. Carnival Rewards points expiry could not be confirmed.
  • Closing your accountNo official Players Club closure process is published. The online sign-up form says you may opt out of Carnival Rewards at any time, and marketing emails are opt-in. For other requests use oceanplayersclub.com/contact/ or Carnival guest services, and see Ocean Players Club's responsible-gaming program for self-exclusion.
  • Linked programsCarnival Rewards (replaced VIFP on September 1, 2026): 1 Star per Casino Point earned, and leftover Casino Points become Rewards Points. Tiers are Red (enrollment), Gold 10,000 Stars, Platinum 50,000, Diamond 100,000; the first window runs September 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028. Per Cruise Mummy, Platinum adds a dedicated casino queue and Diamond a dedicated casino host on request. Casinos are run by Carnival Corporation's Ocean Players Club, which handles credit lines, offer verification, Gaming Wallet refunds and W-2G/1099 and win/loss statements. Cross-brand crediting (Carnival play counting toward Princess or Holland America offers) isn't officially documented. One undated Cruise Critic post says HAL slot play led to Carnival offers but not HAL ones.
Tips from experienced players

From forums, blogs and player reports, not the cruise line.

  • Community: put your Sail & Sign card in every machine you switch to; slot play earns points far more predictably than table play.
  • Community: Drinks On Us usually doesn't switch on by itself. Once you reach the threshold (about 1,000 points on short cruises and 1,500 on 5+ nights), ask a casino host to add it to your card.
  • Community: longer sessions at lower stakes, small regular side bets and tipping dealers are said to help table ratings more than short high-limit bursts.
  • Community: beyond Drinks On Us, comps are not a fixed chart. Posters say you are ranked against other players on the same sailing, so the same point total can earn very different offers.
  • Community: introduce yourself to the casino host early and ask near the end of the cruise how your play rated.
  • Community: Cheers or other drink packages make Drinks On Us redundant, and Drinks On Us can't be upgraded to shipwide on the same sailing.
  • Community: if you rebook or need to change a casino-rate booking, expect to go through Carnival's sales team rather than online.
  • Community: since Carnival Rewards, decide whether to spend Casino Points onboard as FunPlay or let them convert to Rewards Points. Stars count either way.

Norwegian Cruise Line

Casinos At Sea Rewards (Players Club)high confidence

Casinos At Sea Rewards is the free casino loyalty program shared by Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. You sign up at the onboard Casino Host Desk, play with your room key, and earn 1 point per $5 on slots or per $10 on video poker. Four tiers (Pearl 4,000, Sapphire 15,000, Ruby 35,000, Elite 100,000 points) are earned in an April 1 to March 31 year, and redeemable points last 18 months for free play, onboard charges or CASNext future-cruise certificates.

Cost
Free
Card / player number
When your account is opened, NCL gives you a membership number, and play is tracked on your room key. The terms also mention 'Rewards Cards' (in the lost or stolen card clause), the 2017 launch release described a personalized Players Card, and the players-club page shows reward-card images in each tier's color. Ask the Casino Host for your membership number or a card.
Program year
The tier evaluation period runs April 1 to March 31. Points earned in that period set your tier for the following year. You can also move up mid-year as soon as you pass a threshold. Tiers are re-evaluated once a year.

Opening an account

  1. Go to the Casino Host Desk in the ship's casino. The official terms say: 'To participate, sign up at the Casino Host Desk in the casino.' The FAQ also says you 'join by playing in one of our onboard casinos.'
  2. Show a valid government-issued photo ID (you must be 21 or older).
  3. NCL opens an account in your name and gives you a membership number.
  4. Use your room key at slot machines, and hand it to the dealer at tables so your play is rated.
Where to join, what you need and joining before you sail

Where you can join:

  • Casino Host Desk / Players Club in any onboard Norwegian, Oceania or Regent casino

What you need:

  • Age 21 or older to join and to redeem benefits (official terms). Some third-party age guides say NCL lets 18+ guests use the casino on some sailings, but the rewards program itself requires 21+.
  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • Room key (cruise card) from your current sailing, which is used to track play
  • One membership account per person. People on NCL's casino Prevent Departure List, and NCLH employees and their immediate family or household members, can't join.
  • No published requirement for a US address (see unknowns)

Before you sail: No published way to enroll online. Official pages describe joining onboard at the Casino Host Desk. Before you sail, you can call Casinos At Sea cruise specialists (1-877-PLAY-NCL / 1-877-752-9625, Mon-Fri 9am-7pm ET) or send a booking request through ncl.com/lead-gen/request-casino-info, but these are booking and contact channels, not enrollment.

Table gamesRated by bet and timePoints are recorded each time your play is rated. They are 'based on average bet, session play or hands played and game type.' Present your room key to the dealer. No formula is published.
Earning fine print
  • Points must be earned individually. The terms say you may not give your room key to anyone else to play on your behalf, and points 'may not be transferred, purchased, sold, or bartered.'
  • 'Select table games and slot machines will not offer points.'
  • Bonus and adjusted points do not count toward tier status.
  • Points moved from one ship to another do not count toward tier status.
  • No points multipliers are published. NCL doesn't say whether free play (points converted to play) earns new points.
  • The NCL World Mastercard bonus points advertised on ncl.com are a separate credit-card program, not Casinos At Sea points.

Keeping your status

  • How long status lastsPoints earned April 1 to March 31 set your tier for the following tier year. Mid-year upgrades are allowed, but if you tier up during a cruise, the new benefits start on your next cruise (except an elevated drink card). The official text doesn't state when a mid-year upgrade expires. A 2022 community source says it lasts for the rest of that year plus the following year.
  • When points resetFor tier purposes, every member restarts at zero points on April 1 at 12:00 AM Eastern. This is separate from redeemable points, which are not wiped on April 1 and expire 18 months after they are earned.
  • If you fall shortTiers are re-evaluated every year using only the points earned that April-March. No grace period or one-level-down rule is published. The current official page names only four tiers, so members under 4,000 points have no named tier. The old entry-level 'Jade' tier, which some third-party sites still list, no longer appears.
  • Do points roll over?Tier points do not roll over, because everyone restarts at zero on April 1. Unused reward points stay usable for 18 months. You can use them on a later cruise or move them to another Norwegian, Oceania or Regent ship if you sail within 18 months. Points are stored per ship. Transferred points don't count toward your tier.
  • Checking your points and tier
    • Tap your room key or card on any slot machine to see your account (official FAQ)
    • Visit the Players Club or Casino Host Desk onboard
    • Between cruises, no official online way to check points or tier was found. Call Casinos At Sea (1-877-752-9625) or casino marketing (1-877-288-3037).
    • Win/loss statements: log in to your ncl.com account and click 'Request Win/Loss Statement' (prior-year statements are available after January 31), or email winloss@nclcorp.com. A manual PDF request form is also available.
    • W-2G copies: use the 'Request W-2G Form' link on the casino pages
Account housekeeping: offers, contact details, duplicates and closing
  • How offers arrive and how to book themTo get casino offers you must be 'a qualified player with verifiable ratings and at least 21 years of age.' Offers must be booked in USD and can't be used through NCL's CE or UK offices. Guests still pay admin fees ($20 per person per day), taxes and port fees. (1) Points to Paradise: rewards from $250 or $500 off up to complimentary cruise fare, based on points earned on your current cruise. You can redeem starting 5 days after the sailing, must book within 90 days, and must sail within 1 year. Complimentary-fare offers cover 3-14 night sailings and are booked through Casinos At Sea or your independent casino representative. (2) CASNext certificates are bought with points onboard: 2,500 points = $125 CASNext Lite, 5,000 = $250 CASNext, and 10,000 = $500 CASNext Haven. The limit is 8 per person. They never expire, are valid on NCL only (not Pride of America), and post to your Latitudes Rewards account after the cruise. To use one, call 1-877-474-2965 and tell the agent when booking. (3) Casino Cruise Certificates (for example, from special events) cover a player plus one guest and are booked by phone. The players-club page lists 1-877-742-9528 for certificate redemption, while the certificate page lists 1-877-794-8567. Cancelling within 120 days of sailing may forfeit the certificate. (4) Onboard, Pearl+ members can redeem points against their bill with the Casino Host on the last day of the cruise, 6-9 PM.
  • Annual cruise benefitNone published. No 'Casino Annual Cruise' or other yearly free-cruise benefit appears in NCL's current Casinos At Sea tier benefits, FAQ or terms (checked October 2026). Tier perks are given per sailing (onboard credit, packages, fee waivers). Some land-casino partner programs, such as PENN Play, give their own members an annual NCL cruise, but that is separate from Casinos At Sea.
  • Updating your name, email or address
    • No self-service process is published. Ask the Casino Host onboard or call casino marketing at 1-877-288-3037, the contact listed in the program terms.
    • Text-message offers (US residents 18+): text PLAY to 44717 to opt in and STOP to opt out. For SMS help, call 1-877-474-9525.
  • Duplicate accountsThe terms allow only one membership account per person ('You may maintain one membership account only'). No process for merging accounts is published. If you have duplicates, ask the Casino Host or call casino marketing (1-877-288-3037).
  • Inactivity and offer rulesNo inactivity rule is published. The terms say 'All points expire 18 months after they are earned,' while the FAQ says points 'stay on your account for 18 months if not redeemed.' NCL can end your account or the whole program at any time, and any remaining points then become worthless.
  • Closing your accountNo process for members to close their own account is published. NCL 'reserves the right to confiscate your Rewards Card and/or terminate your account for any reason,' and after termination your points are void. To close an account, contact casino marketing (1-877-288-3037).
  • Linked programsOne account works in the casinos of Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas. Many tier perks are NCL-only, and Oceania/Regent stateroom discounts start at Ruby. Latitudes Rewards (NCL's cruise loyalty program) is separate, but CASNext certificates are deposited to your Latitudes Rewards account. Guests booked through the Friends and Family program don't get tier benefits. NCL's casino page links to casinosatsea.com for a 'First Cruise On The House for New Casino Guest' offer, but that site blocks automated reading, so its terms weren't checked.
Tips from experienced players

From forums, blogs and player reports, not the cruise line.

  • Give your room key to the dealer at the start of every table session and confirm you're being rated, because table points depend on how the pit rates you. (General advice from cruise-casino guides; the official FAQ also tells you to present your key.)
  • Points last 18 months and CASNext certificates never expire, so many players save points for a future sailing or turn them into CASNext instead of spending them all at the end of a short cruise. (Know Your Slots, 2022; The Points Guy, Oct 2024)
  • Charge spa or specialty dining to your room, then redeem points against the bill on the last night between 6 and 9 PM. (Know Your Slots, 2022; The Points Guy, Oct 2024)
  • Ask the Casino Host which tier benefits you've received and which you haven't, because hosts handle the perks. (The Points Guy, Oct 2024)
  • Points can be moved to sister brands Oceania and Regent. Watch the 18-month clock, which runs from when each point was earned. (Know Your Slots, 2022)
What we couldn't confirm
  • Online portal: no official way to check points or tier between cruises was found. NCL links to casinosatsea.com, but that site blocks automated access, so its features (log-in, offers, new-player 'First Cruise On The House' terms) are unverified.
  • The exact table-game rating formula (average bet, time and game-type factors).
  • Whether free play or points-to-play wagers earn new points.
  • Whether a US address is needed to join or to receive offers. Offers must be booked in USD, can't be used through NCL's CE or UK offices, and the SMS program is US-only.
  • No published self-service process for updating your address, email or name, merging duplicate accounts, or closing an account.
  • When a mid-year tier upgrade expires.
  • Folio redemption on NCL: the benefits table and FAQ list 'Redeem Points to Folio' for all NCL tiers, but a footnote says folio redemption is 'currently available on Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas.' Confirm onboard.
  • Expiry wording conflicts: the terms say points expire 18 months after they are earned, while the FAQ says points stay 18 months 'if not redeemed.'

Virgin Voyages

Sea Rollers Rewards (also written 'Sea Roller Rewards')high confidence

Sea Rollers Rewards is Virgin Voyages' free casino loyalty program. You're enrolled automatically the first time you play in The Casino, starting at the Showstopper tier. Slots earn 1 point per $5 and video poker 1 point per $10, and five tiers (Showstopper, Star 5,000, Superstar 15,000, Idol 35,000, Legend 75,000 points) are earned in a May 1 to April 30 cycle and kept through the following status year. Star and above get casino offers, free drinks while playing, a dedicated booking line and an annual cabin offer.

Card / player number
No separate players card is documented. Play is tracked to your Sailor account through the Sailor Band (tap-and-play at slots). Virgin doesn't publish how to get a player number, so ask the Casino Host.
App
Virgin Voyages app (Sailor account). No published feature for viewing Sea Rollers points or tier.
Program year
The earning period runs May 1 to April 30. Reach a tier and you keep its benefits 'for the rest of the current earning year and the entire following status year.' The terms updated September 10, 2026 say point balances restarted at zero on May 1, 2026, and status already earned runs through April 30, 2027. The same terms still show the earning period as 'May 1, 2025 - April 30, 2026,' which looks outdated. The current earning year is presumably May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027.

Opening an account

  1. Book a voyage and set up your Sailor account. On board, your wearable Sailor Band is your ID and payment link.
  2. Play. Virgin says 'The moment you play at our casino, you're automatically enrolled in Sea Roller Rewards.' Community guides say you tap your band at slots (after setting a PIN) and either charge chips to your band or buy in with cash at tables.
  3. You start in the Showstopper tier and move up automatically as your points grow.
  4. Optional, before your first voyage: upload a current competing casino offer on the Casino Player Inquiry form. Virgin says it will 'reach out within 48-72 business hours.'
Where to join, what you need and joining before you sail

Where you can join:

  • Automatically onboard, the first time you play in the casino
  • Online before sailing, for players who already have casino status elsewhere: the Casino Player Inquiry / Booking Form at virginvoyages.com/casino/casino-player-inquiry

What you need:

  • A Virgin Voyages booking. The ships are adults-only.
  • Gaming age: on Alaska sailings, all onboard gaming is limited to Sailors 21 or older. On other itineraries, Virgin says gaming age 'will follow applicable laws and our onboard policy' and publishes no number.
  • Recipients of casino cabin offers must be 21 or older.
  • Your Sailor Band / Sailor account is used to track play. No separate ID-check step for the rewards program is published.

Before you sail: Partly. Tier enrollment happens automatically when you play onboard. Since April 23, 2024, past Sailors who played in the casino were auto-enrolled and placed in a tier based on earlier voyages. Before sailing, existing casino players can submit the Casino Player Inquiry form with a competing casino offer to request Virgin casino offers. Virgin says it doesn't match status or offers but will 'do our best' on rates and comps.

Earning fine print
  • Points are based on the total amount wagered, including re-bet winnings, not on your buy-in. (Community: Fraser At Sea; Island Casinos)
  • If you reach a new tier during a sailing, its benefits apply from your next voyage (official terms). The casino page says benefits are 'activated' as soon as you qualify.
  • No points multipliers are published. Virgin doesn't say whether free play earns points.
  • Sailor Loot (onboard credit) 'can be used in the casino for gameplay, but cannot be cashed out' (official FAQ).

Keeping your status

  • How long status lastsStatus lasts for the rest of the earning year in which you reach it plus the whole following 12-month status year (official wording). The terms give this example: status assigned from earlier play remains through April 30, 2027.
  • When points resetTier points reset to zero every May 1 ('Sailor starts at zero for next tier period').
  • If you fall shortPoints restart at zero every May 1. If you don't re-earn your tier's range during an earning year, you would drop to the tier that matches your new total when the next status year begins. This is implied by the terms. No grace period or soft-landing rule is published.
  • Do points roll over? No. Tier points reset every year. Free play is given per voyage, and community sources say unused per-voyage free play doesn't carry over.
  • Checking your points and tier
    • Ask the Casino Host or Sailor Services onboard
    • After your voyage, call Sailor Services (954-488-2955 US; +44 (20) 30034919 UK; +61 (1800) 491708 AUS) or contact the casino team (954-372-7212, VVcasino@virginvoyages.com)
    • There's no online points portal. In 2024 Virgin told URComped one was being built, and 2026 community guides still describe it as unconfirmed.
    • Win/loss statements: use the 'Sea Roller Win/Loss Form' linked from virginvoyages.com/casino
Account housekeeping: offers, contact details, duplicates and closing
  • How offers arrive and how to book themCasino Cabin Offers reach the qualified Sailor 'named in the email, direct mail and/or onboard certificate.' They are for new bookings on Virgin's Lady ships only and can ONLY be redeemed by calling 954-372-7212 or emailing VVcasino@virginvoyages.com. The offer covers the voyage fare for a double-occupancy cabin and excludes taxes, upgrades, voyage protection, transfers (except in a Mega Rock Star Quarters suite) and fuel surcharges. It can't be transferred, has no cash value and can't be combined with other promotions. A deposit 'in the form of casino play' is applied when you book. It is non-refundable if you cancel 'within 30 days,' and onboard 'the $200 value will be applied to our slot machines for play.' You may pay to upgrade within the same itinerary, ship class and voyage length. Trade-in value doesn't apply. The benefits grid also lists an 'Additional complimentary cabin offer based on points earned during your voyage.' Community sources say comp voyages still carry roughly $150-$200 per person in taxes and fees, often due soon after booking.
  • Annual cruise benefitYes, at Star (5,000 points) and above. The official benefits grid and terms list an 'Annual Cabin Offer' for Star, Superstar, Idol and Legend. Virgin doesn't publish the cabin category or value for each tier. It is redeemed under the Casino Cabin Offer terms (phone or VVcasino email only).
  • Updating your name, email or address
    • No casino-specific process is published. Contact Sailor Services or the casino team (VVcasino@virginvoyages.com). Your name and contact details for sailing are kept in your Virgin Voyages Sailor account.
  • Duplicate accountsNo process is published (unknown). Contact the casino team at VVcasino@virginvoyages.com or 954-372-7212.
  • Inactivity and offer rulesNo inactivity or expiry rule for accounts or points is published.
  • Closing your accountNo process is published (unknown).
  • Linked programsSea Rollers is separate from Virgin's cruise loyalty program (community guides call it the Sailing Club). Sailors who hold Deep Blue Extras perks (through Sea-Blazer, Sea-Rover or frequent-voyage eligibility) 'will not receive DBE and BE perks when they are sailing on Casino offers.' Virgin doesn't match other casinos' status, but its casino team reviews competitor casino offers uploaded through its inquiry form. There are no sister-brand casino links. A September-October 2026 Sailing Club status match covered cruise, airline and hotel programs, not casino programs (community-reported).
Tips from experienced players

From forums, blogs and player reports, not the cruise line.

  • Re-bet winnings count toward points. For example, $10 played, $20 won, and that $20 played again counts as $30 of coin-in. Reaching Star on slots alone takes roughly $25,000 of coin-in. (Fraser At Sea, ~2024)
  • Ask the Casino Host early how your table play is being rated, because it's easy to miss credit. (virginvoyages.blog, 2026)
  • Free play is credited per voyage and doesn't add up across sailings, and complimentary drinks apply only while you're actively playing in the casino. (Island Casinos, 2026)
  • Charges to your room account for gaming reportedly carry a fee (VV Insider cites 7%), and the official grid waives cash advance fees from Superstar up. A reader disputed the details, so confirm onboard. (VV Insider, updated Mar 2025)
  • Comp voyages still need taxes and fees (often $150-$200 per person), and unpaid bookings can be cancelled within about 48 hours. If you book a casino comp directly, ask for it to be linked to your preferred travel advisor (First Mate). (URComped 2024; camjontravel, Sept 2026)
  • Free gaming lessons are held on the casino floor on embarkation day, which is a good time to meet the Casino Host. (Virgin Ahoy blog; Fraser At Sea)
What we couldn't confirm
  • Gaming age outside Alaska: Virgin's FAQ gives no number for other itineraries. Some third-party age guides say 18+, but this isn't confirmed officially.
  • Whether free play earns points, and the conversion rate from points to free play.
  • The cabin category or value of each tier's Annual Cabin Offer, and the per-voyage points needed for the 'additional complimentary cabin offer.' The community-cited figure of about 8,000 points for a Sea Terrace isn't official.
  • Whether Sea Rollers points or tier can be seen in the Virgin Voyages app or account. No official portal was found.
  • The current earning-period dates: the September 10, 2026 terms contradict themselves (they list May 1, 2025-April 30, 2026 but also say points restarted May 1, 2026).
  • No published process for updating your details, merging duplicate accounts or closing an account.
  • Whether 'within 30 days' in the deposit rule means 30 days of sailing or of booking.
  • How a player number or ID is issued.

MSC Cruises

MSC Casino Dream Points (community sources call it MSC Signature Player Rewards / UChoose)low confidence

MSC Cruises doesn't publish a tiered casino players club with yearly status. You earn 'Dream Points' by inserting your cruise (ship) card at slot machines or giving it to the dealer at tables, and points count only for that sailing. A Rewards Matrix posted in the casino turns your total into free play, a discount or a free-cruise certificate, and MSC says the next-cruise offer is emailed to you. Community sources put the slot and video poker rate at $3 coin-in per Dream Point, but MSC's own pages don't publish rates or thresholds.

Cost
Free
Card / player number
Your cruise (ship) card works as your player card. No separate player number or card is documented.
App
MSC app: community sources say you use it (or a kiosk) to register a card on file linked to your cruise card. No feature for checking casino points is documented.
Program year
There is no published annual program year or status period. Dream Points are counted per sailing.

Opening an account

  1. Board and get your MSC cruise card (ship card).
  2. Insert it into a slot machine. MSC's US casino page says this lets you 'instantly start earning Dream Points.'
  3. At table games, give your card to the dealer or casino supervisor and ask to be rated. Before leaving, confirm your play was recorded (community).
  4. Check the Rewards Matrix posted in the casino to see what your points will earn on this sailing (official comp-match page).
  5. Optional: before boarding, link a credit card to your cruise card through the MSC app or a self-serve kiosk so you can move gaming funds to your onboard account (community).
Where to join, what you need and joining before you sail

Where you can join:

  • Automatically onboard: insert your ship/cruise card in any slot machine, or give it to the dealer at a table and ask to be rated
  • Optional before sailing: the MSC Cruises Comp Match form at msccompmatch.com, for players with a competing casino offer

What you need:

  • Your MSC cruise card
  • Age: Cruise Critic (2023) and other community sources say 21+ on US-based sailings and 18+ elsewhere. This couldn't be confirmed on MSC's main site because msccruises.com is bot-protected.
  • No separate sign-up, fee, ID check or address requirement is published

Before you sail: No sign-up is needed, because tracking starts automatically with your cruise card. Before sailing, you can submit a competing cruise-line or land-casino comp offer through the MSC Cruises Comp Match page (msccompmatch.com). MSC decides what, if anything, to offer, and community sources say a casino concierge replies in about a week.

How you earn points

GameRateDetails
Slots$3 per point$3 coin-in = 1 Dream Point. This is community-reported (URComped 2020-2025, Lumogem 2024, MSCCruiseFan 2026). MSC's US page says only that inserting your ship card earns Dream Points.
Video poker$3 per pointSame as slots: $3 coin-in = 1 Dream Point (community-reported). MSC's comp-match page says 'We offer the same points-to-earning ratio on slots and video poker.' Some commenters on a 2022 URComped post claimed $5 or $10 per point for video poker, which is unverified.
Table gamesRated by bet and timePit staff award points based on average bet, time played and game. No formula is published, and 'table players must check their points with onboard staff' (community).
Earning fine print
  • Play counts toward your next-cruise offer 'until the casino closes on the last day' (official comp-match page).
  • Bingo, lottery-style games and sports betting don't earn Dream Points (community).
  • Casino spending does NOT earn MSC Voyagers Club points. Voyagers Club awards 100 points per $/EUR 150 spent onboard 'excluding casino expenses' (official MSC Canada FAQ).
  • Thresholds and rates can differ by market and currency (USD vs EUR) (community).
  • No multipliers are published, and MSC doesn't say whether free play earns points.

Keeping your status

  • How long status lastsNot applicable. MSC publishes no casino status tiers, and rewards are calculated per cruise.
  • When points resetPoints reset at the end of each cruise and don't carry over (community: MSCCruiseFan 2026, URComped). Your player rating reportedly stays on file and shapes future mailers and offers.
  • If you fall shortNot applicable (no status tiers).
  • Do points roll over? No. Dream Points don't carry over to the next cruise (community). MSC's official comp-match page says your play and points count toward your next cruise offer until the casino closes on the last day.
  • Checking your points and tier
    • Insert your cruise card in a slot machine to see your points (community)
    • Ask casino staff or the Casino Host for your table points (community)
    • Compare your total against the Rewards Matrix posted in the casino (official)
    • No online points portal was found. The 'Manage Your Booking' log-in on msccruisesusa.com isn't linked to casino points.
Account housekeeping: offers, contact details, duplicates and closing
  • How offers arrive and how to book themOfficial (msccompmatch.com): you 'Receive your next cruise offer via email.' Casino comps 'include taxes and fees, with low sailing deposits that are refundable and returned as free play,' although taxes and fees apply to discounted offers. MSC also mentions invitations to exclusive event sailings, free drinks in the casino and optional Yacht Club upgrades. Community: certificates are issued onboard or shortly after the cruise. US comp offers usually need a deposit (about $500, sometimes reported as $500-$1,000) that is returned as free play once onboard. Upgrade charges follow a chart (for example, 7-10 nights inside to balcony was $1,250 in the 2022-2024 charts). URComped members book through their URComped host rather than the onboard Next Cruise desk. Future Cruise Credits can't be combined with casino comps. Some revenue-department offers require you to pay taxes and fees.
  • Annual cruise benefitNone for the onboard program, since there's no annual status. Some land-casino partners give their own members a yearly MSC cruise benefit: Rivers Casino Rush Rewards (announced March 14, 2023) and Wynn Rewards (reported February 19, 2026, including an annual cruise benefit and Yacht Club access for top-tier members). Those benefits come from the partner's program, not MSC's casino points.

  • Closing your accountUnknown. No process is published.
  • Linked programsMSC Voyagers Club (cruise loyalty) is separate and excludes casino spending from points (official). The MSC Casino Comp Match (msccompmatch.com) is also separate from the Voyagers Club Status Match. Sister brand Explora Journeys has no documented casino link.
Tips from experienced players

From forums, blogs and player reports, not the cruise line.

  • Give your card to the dealer as soon as you sit down at a table, and confirm with the dealer or pit boss that you're rated before you leave, because table points are tracked by hand. (MSCCruiseFan 2026; Lumogem 2024)
  • Introduce yourself to the Casino Host on day 1. Hosts may offer specialty dining, Wi-Fi or drink perks even though there are no formal tiers. (MSCCruiseFan 2026; URComped)
  • Register a credit card to your cruise card before boarding to move gaming funds to your onboard account. URComped reports no added fee and a $50K daily limit, while cash-advance kiosks charge bank fees. (URComped, Feb 2025)
  • Because points reset each cruise, aim to finish the sailing at a matrix threshold. Extra points above a certificate level earn only $50 free play per 1,000 until the next cabin category. (URComped 2022; Lumogem 2024)
  • A stronger euro makes the same Dream Points cost more on European sailings, and redemption charts differ by market. (MSCCruiseFan 2026)
  • Don't count on MSC for win/loss statements or W-2Gs. URComped reported in 2020 that MSC doesn't provide them, so keep your own records (unverified for 2026).
What we couldn't confirm
  • msccruises.com is bot-protected, so it wasn't accessed. Its casino pages, FAQ or terms (if any) couldn't be checked. This research used MSC's other official domains (msccruisesusa.com via a fetch tool, msccruises.ca FAQ, msccompmatch.com), search results and community sources.
  • The official Dream Points earning rate. $3 per point is community-reported, and MSC only confirms that slots and video poker earn at the same rate.
  • The official Rewards Matrix thresholds. The figures given are community-reported from 2022-2024 charts and vary by market.
  • Whether MSC has any named status tiers or a program year. None are published.
  • Whether and when casino certificates expire, and how to book them directly with MSC (outside URComped).
  • The official casino age policy (community sources say 21+ on US sailings and 18+ elsewhere).
  • Whether free play earns points.
  • Whether a US address is needed to receive casino offers.

Princess Cruises

Princess Players Advantage (Princess Casino), with Sea You Soon offers and invitational tiersmedium confidence

Princess's casino rewards program is now called Princess Players Advantage. You're enrolled automatically the first time you play with your Medallion in the casino. Its Sea You Soon program is unusually transparent: Princess publishes a chart of points earned on a voyage and the free play or free cabin each level unlocks, set by cruise length. The VIP levels (Special Events, Hearts, Ultimate, Prestige, Diamonds) are invitation-only and have no published thresholds.

Cost
Free
Card / player number
No plastic players card. Your Medallion is your player card: tap it at the machine and log in to Players Advantage. A Player ID is required on the casino-voucher redemption page, but Princess doesn't say where it is shown (presumably on your offer email or certificate; unconfirmed).

App
Princess Cruises app (iOS and Android), which replaced the MedallionClass app. Princess recommends checking it for casino hours. No official source says it shows casino points.
Program year
No program year is published. Sea You Soon offers are calculated from points earned on each voyage. Princess calls Diamonds, its top invitational level, an 'annual status' but publishes no start or end dates.

Opening an account

  1. Sail and receive your Medallion (the wearable that replaces a cruise card).
  2. In the casino, tap your Medallion at a slot machine and log in to your Players Advantage account. Enrollment is automatic; no form is needed.
  3. At tables, ask the dealer or pit to rate your play. Princess says every rated session counts.
  4. Before your cruise ends, your Sea You Soon offer is generated automatically from the points earned in the earning window.
  5. To get future casino promotions, opt in to marketing in your My Princess account (princess.com/dealmein redirects to the My Princess login).
Where to join, what you need and joining before you sail

Where you can join:

  • Onboard casino: tap your Medallion at a slot machine and log in to your Players Advantage account, or present your Medallion for a table rating
  • Online, before sailing (US residents 21+): the Princess Casino Tier Match form at portal.princess.com/casino, which is for offers, not points
  • Online: the Princess casino 'partner' sign-up for casino marketing emails (countries listed: Australia, Singapore, United States, United Kingdom)

What you need:

  • Age 18+ to enter the casino and gamble on US-based Princess ships. Princess says valid government-issued photo ID is required to verify age.
  • A Medallion from a current sailing
  • Tier Match: legal resident of the 50 US states or DC, age 21+, eligible for passage. Offers are for new bookings for the 1st and 2nd guests only.
  • Casino voucher redemption needs the voucher code and your Player ID

Before you sail: Not for earning points. Players Advantage enrollment happens automatically the first time you play onboard with your Medallion. Before sailing, US residents 21+ can submit competing casino or cruise offers through Tier Match (portal.princess.com/casino; program runs until at least December 31, 2026). Anyone can sign up for casino marketing emails.

How you earn points

GameRateDetails
SlotsNot publishedNot officially published. A Reddit chart cited by Las Vegas Advisor (May 2026), 'effective Sept. 1, 2025', says 1 point per $2.50 wagered; a commenter said 1 point per $2. Sister lines Carnival and Holland America officially publish $2.
Video pokerNot publishedNot published for Princess. No reliable community figure found.
Table gamesRated by bet and timeOfficial Sea You Soon footnote: 'Table Games offers are based on time played and average bet.' No formula is published; ask the casino host for your rating.
Earning fine print
  • Sea You Soon earning window (official): from when the casino opens until 11:59 p.m. ship time on the second-to-last night. On a 7-day cruise the window ends on day 5. Points earned later still count toward 'your other casino offers'.

  • The chart images on princess.com carry March 18, 2026 asset timestamps. A Las Vegas Advisor piece (May 21, 2026) cites the same 7-day figures from a video. Cruise Mummy (2026) reported a Sun Princess onboard board showing 2,000 points for an interior stateroom + $100 free play, which conflicts with the current chart (3,000 for up to 7 days). Charts may vary by sailing or date, and Princess says offers 'may not be available on every sailing.'
  • Whether free play earns points is not stated by Princess.
  • Casino play isn't mentioned as earning Captain's Circle credit. Captain's Circle tiers are based on cruises and cruise days.

Keeping your status

  • How long status lastsSea You Soon offers must be booked within 30 days and sailed within 6 months. The redemption section counts the 30 days from disembarkation, while the FAQ counts from the date the offer was extended onboard. Diamonds is an annual status, but its dates and renewal rules aren't published. No other status validity is published.
  • When points resetSea You Soon points are counted per voyage ('Points earned this voyage') and start fresh each cruise. Each segment of a back-to-back booking earns its own offer. The reset rule for Diamonds or other invitational levels isn't published.
  • If you fall shortNot published. Invitational levels are by invitation, so in practice they depend on continued play.
  • Do points roll over? No. Sea You Soon is based on 'points earned this voyage', and community reports (2018 and later) say points start at zero each cruise. Princess says points earned after the earning window still count toward other casino offers, which suggests play history is tracked beyond one voyage.

    • Ocean Players Club offer verification form (oceanplayersclub.com/contact/comp/), using your Captain's Circle number as Past Guest Number
Account housekeeping: offers, contact details, duplicates and closing
  • How offers arrive and how to book themSea You Soon offers come as an onboard certificate and an email before the cruise ends. Redeem online at princess.com/casino-voucher (voucher code of 3-15 digits or 'SYS' + 8-15 characters, plus your Player ID), or call Princess Casino Reservations, your Cruise Vacation Planner or a travel agent, and mention the offer when booking. Offers are for new bookings made after you receive the offer letter, can't be combined with other casino offers, and exclude taxes, fees and port expenses. A complimentary stateroom covers the invited member plus one guest. Drinks On Us and Free Play are for the invited member only, and Princess Plus covers the first two guests. Sea You Soon offers are for 'select cruises of 3 to 16 days'. Offers earned in Australia can be used worldwide and vice versa. Other casino promotions arrive by email if you're opted in. Tier Match responses come by email about 7 business days after submission, only if you qualify. Community (Las Vegas Advisor, 2026): other mailers arrive 3-8 weeks after sailing and may land in spam. Community (2020): free play is handled by the casino department (reported line 888-772-6697), not your cruise planner.
  • Annual cruise benefitDiamonds is described as an annual status (invitation only, perks unspecified). No annual free cruise is published.
  • Updating your name, email or address
    • Update your contact details and marketing preferences in your My Princess account (princess.com/my-princess; princess.com/dealmein redirects there)
    • No casino-specific profile page was found. For casino records, contact casinosupport@princess.com or a casino host onboard.
  • Duplicate accountsNo official process is published. Ocean Players Club and Princess offer forms identify you by Captain's Circle number, so use one Captain's Circle number consistently and ask casinosupport@princess.com to combine duplicate records.
  • Inactivity and offer rulesNo inactivity or expiry rule is published for Players Advantage. Offers expire (Sea You Soon: book within 30 days, sail within 6 months). A 2020 community thread shows casino free play offers with book-by and sail-by dates.
  • Closing your accountNo official closure process is published. Opt out of marketing in My Princess, and contact casinosupport@princess.com or Ocean Players Club for casino record or responsible-gaming requests.
  • Linked programsCaptain's Circle (Gold after 1 cruise, Ruby at 3 cruises or 30 days, Platinum at 5 or 50, Elite at 15 or 150) is separate and based on cruises and days; casino play isn't mentioned. Princess casinos are run by Carnival Corporation's Ocean Players Club, which handles offer verification, Gaming Wallet balances, credit lines and W-2G/1099 and win/loss documents. Tier Match excludes offers from Carnival Cruise Line. Community reports suggest play on one Carnival Corp brand doesn't reliably produce offers on another.
Tips from experienced players

From forums, blogs and player reports, not the cruise line.

  • Community: use the published Sea You Soon chart. Aim to cross a threshold before 11:59 p.m. on the second-to-last night, since later play doesn't count toward that voyage's offer.
  • Community (Las Vegas Advisor, May 2026): play longer sessions of one to two hours once or twice a day rather than many short ones, and confirm with a host that your play is rated.
  • Community: ask a casino host near the end of the cruise how your play rated and what offers it qualifies for.
  • Community: check spam folders and the logged-in casino page for offers, which can arrive weeks after the cruise.
  • Community (2018): comped drinks outside formal offers are discretionary and more often go to table players.
  • Community (2020): casino free play usually can't be added to an existing booking. Expect to make a new booking under the offer.
  • Community (Tips For Travellers, 2022): one experienced player called Princess offers the least generous of the Carnival Corp casinos at the time. The 2025-2026 Sea You Soon chart is far more transparent than what that post described.
What we couldn't confirm
  • Official dollars-per-point rates for slots, video poker and tables (community: ~$2.50 or $2 per point on slots)
  • Whether free play earns points
  • Where to find your Player ID, and whether it equals your Captain's Circle number

Holland America Line

Holland America Players Clubmedium confidence

The Holland America Players Club is HAL's free casino rewards program for guests 18 and over. You join the first time you insert your card at a slot machine or hand it to a table dealer. Slots earn 1 point per $2 and video poker 1 point per $5 (both official). Points lead to onboard comps, casino offers and invitations to VIP, Tournament, Ultimate Games and Prestige cruises, but HAL publishes no thresholds, no program year and no tier-keeping rules.

Cost
Free
Card / player number
HAL's casino page calls it your 'Players Club card'. Community reports from 2023 to 2026 say the stateroom keycard serves as the player card: free play is loaded onto it, and hosts add a sticker for casino drink comps. Your casino record is tied to your Mariner number, which Ocean Players Club forms ask for as your Past Guest Number.
Check online
hollandamerica.com/en/us/cruise-deals
App
Navigator app (HAL's onboard app). No official source says it shows casino points or Player Bank balances.
Program year
No program year is published. Comps and offers are based on your play, and HAL doesn't publish an evaluation period.

Opening an account

  1. Board the ship with your HAL card (community reports say your stateroom keycard is used as the Players Club card).
  2. Insert the card in a slot machine while playing. This instantly creates your personal profile and Player Bank. At tables, hand the card to the dealer.
  3. Keep the card inserted (or presented at tables) for every session so points are tracked.
  4. Log in at HollandAmerica.com, or add your Mariner ID, to see the casino offers exclusive to you.
Where to join, what you need and joining before you sail

Where you can join:

  • Onboard casino: insert your Players Club card into any slot machine (this creates your profile and Player Bank), or hand it to the dealer at a table game
  • Casino Hosts onboard can enroll you and explain the program
  • Online, before sailing (US residents 21+): the Holland America Players Club Match form at oceanplayersclub.com/hollandamericamatch/, which is for offers, not points
  • Online, before sailing: Casino Credit Line application via Ocean Players Club (oceanplayersclub.com/contact/apply-credit/)

What you need:

  • Age 18 or older to play in the casino. HAL says to bring ID in case you're asked to verify your age.
  • Must be 21+ to drink alcohol, including casino drink comps
  • Your HAL card from a current sailing
  • Casino offers: invited member must be a legal resident of the 50 US states/DC or Canada and 18+, and the booking name and Mariner ID must match the invited member (no name changes)
  • Players Club Match: legal resident of the 50 US states or DC, age 21+, eligible for passage

Before you sail: Not for earning points, which happens onboard on your first rated play. Before sailing you can submit other casinos' status or competing cruise offers to the Holland America Players Club Match (US/DC residents 21+; Frequent Miler listed it as available in April 2026) and apply for a Casino Credit Line through Ocean Players Club.

How you earn points

GameRateDetails
Slots$2 per point1 point for every $2 you play (coin-in)
Video poker$5 per point1 point for every $5 coin-in
Table gamesRated by bet and timePoints depend on the type of game, your average bet and how long you play. No formula is published.
Earning fine print
  • Official rates come from the FAQ on HAL's Onboard Casino page (checked October 2026). A 2022 community guide cited about $2.50 per point across Carnival-brand casinos; HAL's current published slot rate is $2.
  • Points are based on coin-in, not losses (community; consistent with 'for every $2 you play').
  • Free drinks while playing: not published as a points threshold. Cruise Mummy (2026) reports that reaching 1,500 points on a 7-night cruise, after asking the casino host, got a sticker on the card that made casino drinks complimentary.
  • URComped (2019) said that under the older 'Club 21' name, every 1,000 slot points earned $10 instant casino cash. This is unverified for 2026.
  • Offer free play goes into your Player Bank for slot play and must be used up before you can cash out (official terms). Whether free play itself earns points isn't stated.
  • Casino spending does not earn Mariner Society credit. The official Mariner Society FAQ excludes 'All casino charges, cash advances, Future Cruise deposits, and associated fees' from the onboard spending bonus.

  • How offers arrive and how to book themOffers appear at HollandAmerica.com/deals when you log in with your Mariner ID, and also arrive by email or mail. Community reports also mention a letter in your cabin on the last night or a post-cruise email. Book online where the casino rate shows, through a Personal Cruise Consultant (1-800-207-3549), or through a travel agent. Official casino terms: offers go only to the single invited member named in the offer, are for new bookings only, are capacity-controlled and can't be combined. They're limited to one stateroom per cruise and up to three cruises. Free-stateroom offers exclude fees, taxes and a $100 per person non-refundable deposit, which comes back as onboard credit (max $200 per stateroom). Discounts apply to the 1st and 2nd guests. Free Play loads to your Player Bank for slots (table promo chips are collected from the cashier) and must be used before cashing out. Free casino drinks are for the invited member while actively gaming, with a daily cap shown on the terms page as '[15] beverages priced at US$[11.00] or less'. Community (2018): a casino discount rate shows only when you're logged in with your Mariner number, and bookings show 'Casino Discount Included In Fare'. Match offers must be booked within 60 days.
  • Annual cruise benefitNone published. There is no annual free cruise or annual status benefit.
  • Updating your name, email or address
    • Update your name, address and email in your HollandAmerica.com account (My Account), which holds your Mariner ID. No casino-specific profile page was found.
    • Name changes aren't permitted on casino offers, and the booking name and Mariner ID must match the invited member (official terms).
    • For casino-side records, use the Ocean Players Club 'Other Questions' form (oceanplayersclub.com/contact/general/), which asks for your Mariner number, booking #, ship and sail date.
  • Duplicate accountsNo official process is published. Casino records are keyed to your Mariner number, so make sure every booking carries the same Mariner ID and ask a Casino Host or Ocean Players Club to combine duplicate records.
  • Inactivity and offer rulesNo inactivity or expiry rule is published for Players Club records. Offers carry their own booking end dates. Community (2022): 'bounce back' offers gave 30 days to book and up to a year to sail.
  • Closing your accountNo official closure process is published. Opt out of marketing via the link in HAL emails or your account. For casino record or responsible-gaming requests, contact Ocean Players Club (oceanplayersclub.com/contact/).
  • Linked programsMariner Society (HAL's cruise loyalty program) excludes casino charges from the onboard spending bonus, so casino play earns no Mariner credit. HAL casinos are run by Carnival Corporation's Ocean Players Club (also behind Carnival and Princess casinos), which handles credit lines, offer verification, Gaming Wallet balances and W-2G/1099 and win/loss statements. The program was formerly called 'Club 21', a term rarely used now (community). Holland America Players Club Match accepts other casinos' status and competing cruise offers. One undated community post says HAL play produced Carnival offers but not HAL ones; cross-brand crediting is not officially documented.
Tips from experienced players

From forums, blogs and player reports, not the cruise line.

  • Community (Cruise Mummy, 2026): the drink comp doesn't switch on by itself. At about 1,500 points, ask the casino host to put the sticker on your card.
  • Community (Cruise Mummy, 2026): HAL doesn't post invite thresholds onboard. One 7-night player with 5,000 points got no offer after 8 weeks, while a commenter got inside-cabin offers with under half that on an 11-night cruise by playing longer at about $0.60 per spin. Time on device may matter as much as coin-in.
  • Community (Tips For Travellers, 2022): an established player with about 5,000 points received a free-cabin 'bounce back' offer. Bounce backs gave 30 days to book and up to a year to sail.
  • Community: casino-player cabin allocations are limited, so book offers quickly.
  • Community (2023-2024): the HAL Match has produced complimentary inside or balcony cabins plus free play and casino drinks for players with Caesars, MGM or Wynn status. Have screenshots ready, because the form may take only one attachment.
  • Community (2018): the casino discount rate (roughly 15-30% off) can be visible only when you're logged in with your Mariner number. Travel agents can sometimes see it too.
  • Community (Tips For Travellers, 2022): charge play to your room account and keep your own log of spend and points per cruise. This makes it easier to judge what each offer really cost.
What we couldn't confirm
  • Point or play thresholds for drink comps, offers, VIP, Tournaments, Ultimate Games and Prestige invitations
  • Any program year, evaluation period or status duration
  • Whether free play earns points

Margaritaville at Sea

Margaritaville at Sea Casino Players Clubmedium confidence

Margaritaville at Sea's casino program is the Casino Players Club. Its terms call it the 'Margaritaville at Sea Casino Rewards Program'. It is free to join, with four tiers based on cumulative Tier Points: Bronze (join free), Silver (1,000), Gold (7,500) and Platinum (15,000). The official terms set a tier earning period of October 1 to September 30, and an expanded benefits grid took effect for sailings from October 1, 2026. Earning rates per game are not published, and Reward Points expire 90 days after they are earned.

October 1 – September 30 (official 'Tier Earning Period')

Opening an account

  1. Optional, before sailing: fill in the Casino Players Club sign-up form on margaritavilleatsea.com/casino-players-club-sign-up.
  2. Onboard, go to the Casino Host Desk in the Margaritaville Casino with your driver's license or passport for verification (official sign-up page).
  3. Receive your Players Club Card and membership number. Per the T&C, tracking may be a physical casino loyalty card, room-key functionality or another method.
  4. Insert your card in slot machines before play, and present it to table staff before table play so your play is rated.
  5. Optional: if you hold status or offers at another casino or cruise line, submit them through the Players Club Status Match Form ('Match My Offer') before booking.
Where to join, what you need and joining before you sail

Where you can join:

  • Onboard at the Casino Host Desk in the Margaritaville Casino on Margaritaville at Sea Paradise or Islander (official T&C: 'enroll at participating Margaritaville at Sea casino locations at the Casino Host desk')
  • Online pre-registration form at margaritavilleatsea.com/casino-players-club-sign-up, then pick up your card at the Casino Host Desk onboard
  • Casino Specialist by phone: 877-806-7447, for qualification and benefit questions (official casino page)

What you need:

  • Age 18+ (official T&C and FAQ: guests 18 and older may play in the casinos)
  • Valid government-issued photo ID: driver's license or passport at card pickup, and on request
  • Must be legally permitted to gamble where the activity occurs; self-excluded, banned or otherwise restricted people are ineligible
  • Individuals only; one account per person
  • US address: not stated as a requirement. The online sign-up form asks for city, state/province and zip. Residency rules are not published.

Before you sail: Partly. You can pre-register online (casino-players-club-sign-up), but you must collect your Players Club Card at the onboard Casino Host Desk with ID. Players with status or offers elsewhere can apply for a status/offer match online before sailing.

How you earn points

GameRateDetails
SlotsNot publishedNot published. Insert your Rewards Card to activate tracking before play. A 2023 third-party report (URComped) said roughly 1 point per $200 coin-in, but that described the pre-2025 program and is not current or official.
Video pokerNot publishedNot published separately; video poker is eligible electronic gaming tracked by inserting your card.
Table gamesRated by bet and timeRated by game type, average wager, length of play and other factors used by the casino-management system. Ratings are estimates, and the casino's records are official. Present your card or account to casino staff before play.
Earning fine print
  • Tier Points and Reward Points are separate measures and may be earned or calculated differently (official T&C).
  • Promotional, bonus, manually adjusted, complimentary, transferred or other non-qualifying points do NOT count toward tier status unless the company says otherwise.
  • Reward Points can come from rated play and from other activities or promotions the company designates. All tiers can redeem Reward Points for Free Play (official grid).
  • No published point multipliers.
  • Play that isn't recorded because you didn't use your card isn't credited.
  • Cruise Critic (updated Jul 28, 2026) reported single-day qualification alternatives: Silver 400, Gold 3,000, Platinum 6,000 points in one day. These do NOT appear on the current official grid, so treat them as unconfirmed.

Tiers and what it takes to keep them

LevelTo earnTo keepHeadline benefits
Bronze0Not publishedRedeem Reward Points for Free Play; Free Play offers (based on rated play, at the line's discretion); Complimentary drinks while actively playing a slot machine or table game (ordered through a casino server; max $20 per drink); Complimentary or discounted cruise offers (based on rated play; not guaranteed by tier)
Silver1,000Not publishedAll Bronze benefits; 1 complimentary bingo card per sailing; Up to $25 arcade credit per sailing; Up to $25 shore excursion credit per sailing
Gold7,500Not publishedAll Silver benefits except the soda package, which is replaced by the Ultimate Beverage Chill Package; Up to $50 arcade, $50 shore excursion and $50 spa credit per sailing (spa on port days only); Complimentary Ultimate Beverage Chill Package (player plus 1 guest; 15 drinks per person per day); Complimentary specialty dining: one experience for 2 at JWB Prime Steakhouse, Far Side Sushi or Sparkling Brunch
Platinum15,000Not publishedAll Gold benefits except the single specialty dinner and Basic Wi-Fi, which are replaced by the items below; Up to 2 complimentary bingo cards per sailing; Up to $100 arcade, $100 shore excursion and $100 spa credit per sailing (spa any day, subject to availability); Complimentary Ultimate Beverage Chill Package (player plus 1 guest)

Keeping your status

  • How long status lastsNot clearly stated in the official T&C. They say Tier Points earned in each Oct 1–Sep 30 period determine your tier, and that you can move up mid-period once a threshold is verified. If you qualify for a higher tier during a cruise, some new benefits may start only on your next sailing. Cruise Critic (Jul 2026) said status lasts for the rest of the qualification period and the following year, but that article used the older July–June period.
  • When points resetTier Points reset to zero at the start of each Tier Earning Period (October 1). Reward Points follow a separate rule: they expire 90 days after being earned. Conflict: Cruise Critic (article updated Jul 28, 2026) gave a July 1–June 30 qualification period. The current official T&C (alongside the grid that took effect for sailings from Oct 1, 2026) say October 1 – September 30, so the year appears to have changed with the October 2026 update. The April 2025 relaunch release only said status can be earned 'over 12 months'.
  • If you fall shortNot published. Tier Points reset to zero each October 1, and the company can change tiers, thresholds and requirements at any time.
  • Do points roll over? No. Tier Points reset to zero every October 1. Reward Points expire 90 days after the date they were earned, and new activity does not extend that.
  • Checking your points and tier
    • Onboard: ask at the Casino Host Desk or casino staff (the T&C point members to casino locations and casino personnel for current information)
    • Phone: Casino Specialist 877-806-7447 (official casino page)
    • Email: playersclub@margaritavilleatsea.com (reported by Cruise Critic; not seen on the official pages checked)
    • No online member portal or app for checking points was found
Account housekeeping: offers, contact details, duplicates and closing
  • How offers arrive and how to book themOffers are personalized, based on tier, gaming activity, theoretical value, actual win/loss, travel history, market and other factors. They may come with booking requirements, qualifying-play requirements, expiry and blackout dates, and cabin restrictions, and are non-transferable and generally not combinable. Members on the Players Club email list or text list receive deals. Status and offer match: upload a photo or screenshot of a casino status card or casino offer, with your full name and offer details visible, through the Players Club Status Match Form. The casino team matches qualified guests to the highest eligible VIP tier and emails a cruise offer within a few days. Cruise Radio (Sept 3, 2026) says matches are for actual casino offers rather than status alone, are judged case by case and are capped at $1,000 free slot play. Cruise Critic says they're good for one sailing and once per person. No published process for booking casino offers was found; offer emails come from the casino team, and the Casino Specialist line is 877-806-7447.
  • Annual cruise benefitNo fixed annual tier cruise certificate like Royal Caribbean's or Celebrity's is published. Instead, Silver and up get complimentary cruise fare for the player and up to 3 guests in the same stateroom (taxes, fees and gratuities may apply). Platinum gets 'Sail with Friends', an additional complimentary stateroom up to Oceanview for 2 guests, plus an invitation to an annual Platinum Players dinner, event or sailing. All tiers may receive complimentary or discounted cruise offers based on rated play, but tier status alone doesn't guarantee one. The April 2025 relaunch said top-tier players can earn a cruise they can gift or use themselves.
  • Updating your name, email or address
    • Members must keep their information accurate (official T&C); no specific update channel is published
    • Likely channels: the Casino Host Desk onboard, or the Casino Specialist at 877-806-7447
    • Marketing preferences can be changed through unsubscribe or opt-out links; opting out doesn't affect membership
  • Duplicate accountsOne account per person. If the company finds duplicates, it may combine them, move eligible activity into one account, close duplicates or reverse duplicate credits (official T&C). No member-initiated merge process is published; ask the Casino Host or Casino Specialist.
  • Inactivity and offer rulesReward Points expire 90 days after earning regardless of activity. No inactivity rule for the membership itself is published. Accounts can be suspended or terminated for misuse, card sharing, duplicate accounts or rule violations, with points and status forfeited.
  • Closing your accountYou can close your account voluntarily, but unused Reward Points and other benefits may be forfeited (official T&C). No closure procedure is published; contact the Casino Host or Casino Specialist. Self-exclusion makes you ineligible during the restriction period.
  • Linked programsNone. Margaritaville at Sea is an independent cruise line, not part of Royal Caribbean Group, and its Players Club isn't linked to Club Royale or Blue Chip Club. It has no separate cruise-loyalty program; the Players Club is its loyalty program. It does run a Status/Casino Offer Match for status or offers from other cruise lines and land-based casinos. Fleet: Paradise and Islander today; a third ship, Beachcomber, starts in 2027 (Galveston from October 2027) and will also have a Margaritaville Casino.
Tips from experienced players

From forums, blogs and player reports, not the cruise line.

  • Pre-register online, then visit the Casino Host Desk on embarkation day with your license or passport so your first session is tracked.
  • Submit a status/offer match before booking. Upload a land-casino or other cruise-line offer showing your full name and offer details; matches are one-time and reportedly capped at $1,000 free slot play.
  • Reward Points expire 90 days after you earn them, so on the line's short cruises, redeem them for Free Play before you leave the ship or on a sailing within 90 days.
  • Silver and Gold spa credit only works on port days, so plan spa visits around the port stop.
  • Tell the line it's your birthday when you book (sailings within 30 days of your birthday) to get the birthday surprise.
  • Comped drinks while playing are capped at $20 per drink and must be ordered from a casino server. The Gold/Platinum beverage package is capped at 15 drinks per person per day.
What we couldn't confirm
  • Official earning rates per game (slots, video poker, tables) for Tier Points and Reward Points
  • Reward Point redemption value (points per $1 Free Play)
  • How long tier status lasts after it's earned, and the downgrade timing
  • Whether the single-day qualification thresholds reported by Cruise Critic (400/3,000/6,000) still apply
  • Whether a 'Tide Rollers' tier above Platinum (in the Apr 2025 press release) still exists
  • Online portal or app for checking points or status (none found)
  • Process for updating name, address or email, and for closing or merging accounts
  • Residency or address requirements

Explora Journeys

None found (onboard venue: The Casino; no public players club)medium confidence

Explora Journeys, MSC Group's luxury line, has a small onboard casino called The Casino, but its official site shows no casino players club, tiers or earning rates. Its cruise loyalty program, Explora Club, explicitly excludes casino spending from points, and its onboard credits can't be used as casino credits or advances. Any rating of play or comps appears to be handled informally onboard, so ask the casino staff.

Cost
N/A (no program)
Card / player number
No casino player card or player number is documented.
Program year
There is no casino program year, because no casino program is published.

Opening an account

  1. No enrollment process is published. If you plan to play seriously, ask the casino staff at The Casino on day 1 whether your play is rated and whether any comps apply.
Where to join, what you need and joining before you sail

Where you can join:

  • Not applicable: no public casino players club was found

What you need:

  • Explora doesn't publish a casino age. Explora Club membership (the cruise loyalty program, not a casino program) is 21+ in the US and 18+ elsewhere.

Before you sail: No. There is no casino program to join. You can join Explora Club before sailing online in My Explora, but casino spending earns nothing there.

Earning fine print
  • Explora Club gives points for onboard spending (EUR/USD 1,000 spent = 100 points) but excludes 'any spending at The Casino' (official Explora Club page and terms).
  • Explora's Journey Experience Credit (onboard credit) 'is not applicable towards ... casino credits or advances' (official terms).
  • URComped's Explora listing shows a $3-per-point slot rate and MSC Voyagers Club tiers, which look copied from its MSC listing and contradict Explora's own loyalty program (Explora Club). Treat these as unverified.

Keeping your status

  • How long status lastsNot applicable (no casino status).
  • When points resetNot applicable.
  • If you fall shortNot applicable.
  • Do points roll over? Not applicable.
  • Checking your points and tier
    • No casino points or status to check. Ask The Casino's staff onboard how, or whether, your play is tracked.
Account housekeeping: offers, contact details, duplicates and closing
  • How offers arrive and how to book themNo casino offers are published by Explora. URComped (2026) says it has 'NOT currently [got] any offers with Explora Journeys,' but also that 'Qualified Explora Journeys Players are eligible for personal VIP Casino Host services.' Neither statement is confirmed by Explora.
  • Annual cruise benefitNone for casino play. Explora Club's Diamond level (50,001+ points) includes a complimentary week-long Journey for two in an Ocean Suite, but those points come from nights sailed and non-casino spending, not gambling.
  • Updating your name, email or address
    • Not applicable for casino. Explora Club and booking details are managed in My Explora or through the Explora Experience Centre.
  • Duplicate accountsNot applicable (no casino account documented).
  • Inactivity and offer rulesNot applicable. Explora Club points (non-casino) expire if you don't book or sail at least once every 5 years.
  • Closing your accountNot applicable (no casino account documented).
  • Linked programsExplora Club, the cruise loyalty program launched April 9, 2025 with points earning from June 30, 2025, has Classic/Silver/Gold/Platinum/Diamond levels and a status match, and excludes casino spending. No link to MSC Cruises' casino rewards or MSC's Casino Comp Match is documented.
Tips from experienced players

From forums, blogs and player reports, not the cruise line.

  • The casino is small. The Points Guy (Oct 2024) counted three tables (poker, blackjack, baccarat) and 18 slot machines on Explora I, and smoking isn't allowed.
  • Cruise Critic's Explora I ship page puts the casino on Deck 4, with slots opening at 5 p.m. and tables at 7 p.m., running until late. Explora III's official deck plan also shows 'THE CASINO.'
  • A URComped reviewer (Explora I, November 2025) said the casino gets busy after 11 p.m. and praised the staff.
What we couldn't confirm
  • Whether Explora rates casino play at all (slots or tables), and if so, how.
  • Whether any informal comps, host programs or casino cruise offers exist. Only an unverified URComped claim of 'VIP Casino Host services' was found.
  • The casino's minimum gambling age.
  • Whether video poker is offered, and current game mix and limits on Explora II, III and later ships.
