Princess Cruises casinos

Princess tracks casino play on your Medallion. Points work one cruise at a time: they decide your Sea You Soon offer at the end of the sailing, and players report they then start again from zero.

Short answerPrincess tracks casino play on your Medallion. Your points on a sailing decide your Sea You Soon offer at the end of it, and players report the count then starts again from zero. Princess doesn't publish an earning rate; players report about 1 point per $2 on slots. The reported smoking policy is non-smoking except at designated slot machines, and you must be 18 to enter the casino.

On the casino floor

Every Princess ship has a casino with slots, video poker, blackjack, craps and roulette. Princess billed Sun Princess (2024) as its largest casino ever: 227 slot machines and 13 tables in about 9,000 square feet on Deck 8. Its 2025 sister, Star Princess, went further with an expanded non-smoking area. Older ships call their casinos Gatsby's Casino or Grand Casino.

Poker tables

Princess removed poker tables from every ship except Coral Princess and Island Princess in December 2025, citing low demand. Reported

Star Princess

The newest ship (October 2025). Princess's fact sheet describes an expanded non-smoking casino area with 68 more slot machines than Sun Princess.

Invitational sailings

Invitation-only Players Invitational cruises sail on Ruby Princess from San Francisco in October 2026, with more than 200 prizes per sailing and a "Key to the Vault" grand prize.

Princess Players Advantage

Princess Players Advantage enrolls you automatically when you play with your Medallion. Princess doesn't publish an earning rate or points tiers. Your points on a sailing decide your Sea You Soon (Princess's end-of-cruise casino offer, set by the points you earned on that sailing.) offer, and players report they reset each cruise. Above that, Princess invites its biggest players to VIP levels.

How you earn

  • Slots: about 1 point per $2 played (reported; one player chart says $2.50)
  • Video poker: about 1 point per $5 played (reported)
  • Table games: rated by the pit (Play the casino records against your account so it earns points. At tables, staff note your average bet and how long you play.) on game, average bet and time
  • Play counts toward Sea You Soon until 11:59 p.m. on the second-to-last night

VIP levels and Tier Match

Above Sea You Soon, Princess invites top players to Special Events, Hearts, Ultimate and Prestige casino cruises, and gives its biggest players annual Diamonds status. You can't apply for these. New players can try Tier Match (A line gives you a tier or a cruise offer based on proof of your level with a land casino or another cruise line.): US residents 21 and over can submit their best offer from a land casino or another cruise line (except Carnival) through at least December 31, 2026. Matched offers carry a $200 non-refundable deposit per guest and $200 onboard credit (Money added to your cruise account to spend on board, for example on drinks, dining or the spa. It usually can't be withdrawn as cash.) per person.

Princess shows its Sea You Soon chart only as images, so these figures come from free2cruise's report on the September 2025 changes. A player chart cited by Las Vegas Advisor (May 2026) gives different numbers, such as 15,000 points for a balcony. Offers must be booked within 30 days and sailed within 6 months. Check each offer for taxes and fees you still pay.

Good to know before you play

  • HoursPrincess doesn't publish hours. Like other lines, casinos open at sea once the ship reaches international waters.
  • PayingPlay is tracked on your Medallion and can go on your cabin account. Players report no fee for charging play, but Princess doesn't publish fees or limits. A 2023 player report says machines don't print tickets and credits stay on your card until you cash out.
  • Age18 and over to enter the casino, with photo ID on US-based ships, and 21 to drink. We found no official Alaska exception, so confirm before you sail.
  • SmokingReported policy: the casino is non-smoking except at designated slot machines, where you may smoke only while playing. Table games are non-smoking, and some evenings are fully non-smoking. Princess's own answer isn't public, so check on board.
  • Free drinksPlayers report that about 1,500 points on a cruise unlocks free drinks from casino servers for the rest of that sailing (reported; Princess doesn't publish this).

What's changed recently

  1. Sea You Soon devalued. Points needed rose by 17–75%. A 7-day interior plus $100 FreePlay (Promotional casino credit for the machines. The credit itself can't be cashed out, but what you win with it can.) went from 2,000 to 3,000 points (reported).
  2. Star Princess debuts. With a larger non-smoking casino area.
  3. Poker tables removed. Removed fleetwide except on Coral Princess and Island Princess (reported).
  4. Tier Match continues. Open to US residents 21 and over through at least December 31, 2026.
  5. Brian Christopher slot cruises. The slot creator's BCSlots Cruises sail on Discovery Princess (Alaska, September 12) and Enchanted Princess (Mediterranean, October 31).
  6. Players Invitational. Invitation-only casino cruises on Ruby Princess from San Francisco.
