When a coin lands on a reel, its value is added to that pillar's prize, the pillar climbs a step, and a three-spin countdown restarts; if three spins pass with no coin on that reel, the pillar slips down a step, and at the bottom its prize resets. When a pillar reaches the top (in Celestial Fortune the dragon behind it turns from red to gold), its prize can be won and the pillar starts over; guides differ on whether that is automatic or needs another coin on that reel. Three or more scatters (a yin yang in Celestial Fortune, a jade pendant in Festive Fortune) award up to 25 free spins, during which the pillars connect to the bonus jackpots and progressives, and all boxes reset after a bonus or progressive win. Pillar progress is saved for each bet level, so it carries over from one player to the next.
Tips can't change the odds of any spin. They help you pick a bet level and a machine.
No performance data has been published, but its visible, saved pillar meters have made it a regular in advantage-play guides, which treat a machine with tall, well-funded pillars as one worth checking.
