How Dragon Trio plays

How it plays

Two of them add a boost to a round of free games: Prize Boost raises coin values for the rest of the round, and Expansion Boost adds rows to the reels. The third starts the Jackpot Bonus, a hold & spin in which coins lock in place and every new coin resets the three-respin counter. Dragon symbols in that bonus hand out lanterns that carry the jackpots. When several trees trigger together, the free games play first and their boosts carry over into the hold & spin. The detailed rules come from SciPlay's guide to the social-casino version (SciPlay is L&W's social studio), so land versions may differ slightly.

Features

  • Three trees above the reels, each tied to its own coin color and feature
  • Prize Boost: coin prizes grow and keep their higher values for the rest of the bonus
  • Expansion Boost: reels gain extra rows, up to 6
  • Jackpot Bonus hold & spin with lanterns that award jackpots
  • Boosts carry into the hold & spin when features trigger together
  • Base-game wilds with random 2x or 3x multipliers

Tips from players and reviewers

  • Watch the three trees above the reels. Players film sessions when the trees look full (NE Slots), but L&W publishes nothing saying a full-looking tree is closer to triggering, so don't raise your bet to chase one.
  • The big results players celebrate come when all three trees trigger at once, because the free-game boosts then carry into the jackpot hold & spin.
  • Midnight Storm is the newer version and adds a Lantern Bonus, so read its help screens rather than assuming it plays exactly like the original.

Tips can't change the odds of any spin. They help you pick a bet level and a machine.

Industry standing and land-casino jackpots

L&W bills it as its own twist on the popular three-pot format. It was previewed at G2E in October 2023, offered to tribal Class II casinos and shown at G2E Asia in 2024, and got a follow-up, Midnight Storm, that reached US and Macau floors in 2026. L&W now lists Midnight Storm among its globally recognized favorites, and both versions show up often in videos from major slot channels.
